Ketamine, Alcohol, Vomiting and "Never Give Ketamine to Strangers?"
SWIM is at uni and living in massive halls with lots of randoms. Recently a girl living above SWIM invited some friends up to uni for the weekend. One of them was very very hot and after everyone got slaughtered playing drinking games SWIM started chatting to her and found out she wasn't into drugs but had done K once and absolutely loved it. When SWIM revealed he was in posession of some K she was very eager to have some. SWIM asked her several times if she was sure and warned her that SWIM normally pukes if he is drunk and has K and she would likely puke as well. She assured SWIM that when she did it before she was very drunk and it was fine.
Anyway, SWIM and this girl went back to SWIM's room and he put on some drum and bass and got out the K. SWIM did a medium sized line and asked the girl how much she wanted. She was determined to do it in keys as she had done that before and did 2 keys. This didn't look like very much to SWIM although in hindsight it was perhaps more than he realised. The girl also had the tiny line that was left over from SWIM measuring out too much for himself. Then they talked for a bit and it seemed that very quickly after snorting the K the girl was feeling the effects. She groaned how she loved K and how this was the feeling she wanted etc etc, (SWIM was quite taken aback by her love of the chemical, this was not the kind of thing you expected to hear from a girl like that). SWIM says it was strange how hard it seemed to hit her, she fell off the chair but was content on the floor and then was totally bemused by a brown envelope laying on SWIM's floor which she pointed out and shrieked at. It seemed as though she was almost tripping.
The drum and bass that was playing reached a break and the girl giggled in surprise at each variation in the tune and laughed with pleasure when the bass kicked back in (SWIM must admit that this was very amusing and cool to see). It was then as though she was having difficulty speaking as she in a shrill tone asked "What are we?" with gasping pauses between each word. SWIM could imagine how she might be feeling, one time when he unknowingly did a suicide line he had no concept of what he was aside from being a 'life-force' of some sort. Anyway when SWIM felt like that he had done a masssive line, and this was such a miniscule quantity in comparison (unless the 2 keys were substantial?). The girls friend was then heard outside shouting out the hot girl's name and SWIM went and got her. No-one knew that SWIM and this girl had gone to do K, they randomly left this party to do it and the girl's friend was annoyed that SWIM didn't tell her. SWIM gave the angry girl some K but she didn't do enough to feel the effects and it seems to have sobered her up if anything (annoying as it meant she would be even more angry at SWIM). The hot girl was having difficulty walking although when SWIM asked she repeatedly assured him she felt good. She ended up in the bathroom with some other people collapsed on the floor and eventually vomited in the shower before being taken to bed.
SWIM was fairly mashed at this stage, he went to do some more K and found it difficult to explain to everyone what had happened. No-one knew this hot girl aside from her friend who lived there (and was now taking care of her in her room) and as a result no-one understood that she had done K before and it was totally her idea. SWIM asked her 2 other friends what to do and they said not to worry as she was known to be a bit of a 'crack-whore'. Anyway, SWIM had to do his best to explain what had happened and he ended up with some uni friends at the bottom of the stairway on his back with his eyes closed and everything black feeling like he was falling through the floor but still able to clearly hear his friends convorsation. He also knew he had pissed off this guy who he was fairly friendly with as before SWIM randomly took this girl off to do some K this guy had been successfuly chatting her up but she was now out of action for the night. When SWIM tried to move he felt ill and he made it back to his room where he puked. His head was swimming and he put on some hard trance to try and focus his mind and chill out.
The experience confirmed in SWIM's mind that K and Alcohol will inevitably result in vomiting. The slight difference on this occasion was that SWIM was significantly more drunk than he had been on the previous occasions when he mixed the two substances and surprisingly this seems to have lessened the nastyness felt prior to puking. Where in the past the sickness had set in quickly and he had to endure a lengthy period of feeling ill before puking, on this occasion he felt ill very late on and then puked quickly. After that he still felt mashed and dizzy but it wasn't so bad. A second and perhaps more obvious conclusion is - don't take stupidly hot drunk girls back to your room and give them K without telling other people (or at all?). SWIM would probably have still given the girl K if he had been sober because she didn't seem that drunk at all and assured him so completely that she'd be fine, although perhaps the smart thing to have done would have been to say no..
Re: Ketamine, Alcohol, Vomiting and "Never Give K to Strangers?"
Ketamine is very volatile when mixed with alcohol. Often people are pretty much fine, but Monkey finds that this mainly happens with people who drink a lot. Monkey never takes the risk and won't ever give someone ketamine who has been drinking. Smoking weed is also risky, but if you space it out by a few hours is usually okay.

If spaced out a couple of hours in between its generally fine, but Monkey has made the mistake twice of smoking a joint and at the same time snorting a big like of ketamine. Was sick as a dog both times, absolutely horrible. Vomiting, unawareness of surroundings, pretty much not able to stand up. Persisted the usual time for ketamine, around two hours. Avoid!

SWIM smoked a joint to prevent nausea before doing his first medium sized line of K, needless to say, it didn't work and he puked when the drip started going down.
The whole experience was unpleasant, similar to DXM, a dirty feeling of intoxication with almost no good things.
Re: Ketamine, Alcohol, Vomiting and "Never Give Ketamine to Strangers?"
Unfortunately Swim is starting to hear more and more stories about ketamine first-timers (not always the case though) vomiting when using it during being under the influence of alcohol. It's a shame because these people will then go and tell their friends that ketamine just makes you puke and it makes the 'ketamine stigma' even bigger to those that aren't knowledged about it. In Swim's circle of friends, not many have tried ketamine. They ask Swim for advice and Swim is more than happy to tell them as much about it as possible. And the one thing Swim always says is "never do it when you're drunk because you will vomit" but they still do it. They'll come back to Swim and say "tried it but was sick for half an hour" and Swim will ask "when did Swiy do it?" and they'll reply "was out on this piss and felt like trying it." Swim just shakes his head.
With ketamine being fairly cheap and only Class C in the UK, it is slowly becoming more and more popular but Swim can foresee 3-4 years in the future it will be upgraded to a Class B, and go up in price, because first-timers (again, not always the case) are just not being sensible about how/when to use it and not learning about it before they do it - it will cause harm to these users and thus be upgraded. The negative stigma that is associated with ketamine will become so sour, and those who use it properly will be labelled something terrible.
With that said, Swim has tried ketamine whilst drunk. He had been advised not to do it but he was too curious and as he was drunk, he felt indestructible. He did two small lines but felt very awful after that and forced himself to put his ketamine away. He was not sick but definitely doesn't want to go down that road again. In Swim's strong opinion, ketamine is best used after MDMA (due to the amplified effects and making the experience 100x more fun/enjoyable).
Swim hopes Swiy friend is ok and will learn from her experience. Swiy did the right thing by double and triple checking that she wanted to do it. If in a similar situation again, refuse point blank to let anyone use ketamine whilst drunk. If they really want to experience ketamine properly, advise them that being drunk is not the route to go down.
