The Cleaner

Synopsis:
William Banks, played by Benjamin Bratt, is a drug addict. With the birth of Lula, his daughter, William makes a deal with God arguing, if he is given a second chance, he will end his drug abuse and help others to end their addictions to sex, drugs, and gambling. William Banks and a small team of recovering addicts work to help others in recovering from their addictions.



Personal opinion of the show:
It is a show that shows the "real" stuff. And it goes through a lot of different addicts. Everything from meth to alcohol. It sounds cheesy in the synopsis, but, I think it is extremely cool.

I think the premise of that show's retarded Sorry, but anytime a show about addicts or drug use comes out, it's way unrealistic. I would have addicts write for the show. Anywho!

2006 television documentary series produced by the Sundance Channel and VH1 about illicit drug use in the United States in the second half of the 20th century.
It is divided into four episodes, based on chronology:

This show was not bad for one pretty mainstream drug doc series. I did enjoy them. I wish I could remember the name of the Drug doc. series that played on the History Channel, it was GREAT.

And I totally agree, the premise is retarded. But after watching it I think its good, but thats me :P But Im still not sure if the main character is a fictional or real. Cuz if its real, then some of it is real, in a way, if you understand what I mean :P

There's a show called Intervention. That's pretty much all it is. People's families write to the show, then they ask the addict to be in a documentary about addiction. Then they blindside the person with an intervention and try to get them to go to rehab. It's a pretty good watch.

breaking bad is the best. i wish everyone would watch it but so far not alot of people have heard about it.

the drug years is a great show, and hooked: illegal drugs on the history channel, but breaking bad's the best.

I laughed when I read the synopisis for this show, but then I watched a couple of clips on youtube and it actually looks ok! Plus, it's actually (well, supposedly) based on a true story.

Thats exactly what I did when I read the synopsis for it the first time, but as you say, it looks better than it sounds :P My favourit episode is episode 8, which is about a teenage boy who does heroine, and William Banks is being contacted by the principal after another OD at her school. So the episode starts at the "funeral", and its really emotional. Search for Cleaner and Karmina on Youtube, and you will find the opening scene.

Yep, I've already watched it! I sat and watched all the clips I could get actually this afternoon. Looks like something I'd definately watch if I had that A&E channel. I've also been watching some of those Intervention episodes that come up as a link when you look up the CLeaner on Youtube - thanks, you've turned me into a cabbage this afternoon!

Intervention is fucking hilarious. It's like they pick some of the worst addicts in the world. I watched an episode with some meth'ed out psycho bitch, and god, no wonder drugs are illegal. People see this shit and think all users are like this. She was rambling on about complete nonsense, she was clearly delusional and experiencing psychosis.

superjail definitly has some kind of acid/salvia ties to it, especially the galactoid episode, where they're shown snorting "space dust" and tripping out like one would on 20x salvia.
