Effects - Need some assurance

This is my first post. I'm typically a reader not a poster but I feel this case may warrant a post.

I have this friend that took a blotter of what he though was lsd, he was dumb and took another a few hours later. Now he is awake all night long paranoid he took some kind of RC. His pupils are huge so something is going on. how long until you know your in the clear for most blotter compounds? its been 7 hours since the initial hit. no visuals of any kind ever came. the majority of his paranoia kick in at about 5 hours

Well, it looks like my friend lasted the night. He IS, however, still on whatever he took. 11 hours so far. whatever he took was very speedy. From reading, I gathered it was either DOB or DOI. Who in gods name actually likes this compound.

Its hard to tell what your friend took. It could perfectly be a low dose of lsd which just gave him the mental effects of lsd and the stimulation which keeps him awake. Some people don't get visual effects unless they take a high dose of lsd. It depends on the person. Tell your friend to try and relax and not to be afraid. The most important thing is that you keep an eye on how your body feels. Lsd can take several more hours before the effects will diminish. If your friend needs more help in anyway just let us know!

Based on your friends descriptions, it very well could be LSD but in SWIM's opinion, it probably is a DOx chemical such as DOC, DOI, or DOB. Ask your friend how big the blotter paper was because sometimes when people put RC's such as the DOx chemicals on blotter, the paper tends to be bigger than normal acid paper (early in the morning and can't think of the dimensions of it at the moment) but this isn't always the case. It's very hard to say what the chemical was on the paper unless your friend gets it tested

My friend said the blotter paper was extremely tiny white. Smaller than his pinky nail. Is lsd typically speedy? All he felt all night long was the jitters.

The major effects seemed to hit him at the 5 hours mark. way later than he was expecting, he almost gave up on the trip. The paper tasted metallic. not incredibly bitter or disgusting but a noticeable taste.
This friend of mine had a hard time thinking. Everything seemed to be slightly confusing and he had lots of circular thoughts that would just repeat. His internal monolog was working overtime.
He still has 2 more papers left. If this might be lsd he would like to try again. but if its a RC he'll probably pass.

Low-dose LSD would fit every description listed. Having one foot planted in reality and one foot planted in the realm of the weird can cause absurd amounts of anxiety and make one feel very speedy. Low dose LSD would have very little visual activity that would be noticable by someone who is fairly new to the experience.

But nothing will ever rule out an RC or guarantee that it's LSD except a chemical test.

Edit: The details the OP added to the above post would further indicate low-dose LSD. Confusion and feeling uneasy are both signs of low dose LSD. Metallic taste fits LSD's profile. Size of blotter fits LSD profile.

~70ug LSD trip I would imagine. If the description is correct I don't think it's any known RC.

How long should he wait until he tries again? theortically could he take the 2 blotters while coming down and get something visual? or is a tolerence built up quickly?

SWIM thinks wait approx. 3 days and try again with two, it's theorized that tolerance usually builds within the first 3 hours of a trip. It still probably won't be the retinal circus and dayglo wonderland SWIY was hoping for, but it should be a whole lot more entertaining.

Don't forget that the LSD doesn't necessarily do it all for the person. They have to contribute too. Bring music into the picture, loud music. Some lights, maybe. Anything that SWIY would feel comfortable around that could stimulate neural activity.

Ultimately he thinks the problem was thinking it would come sooner. When it didn't come for 5 hours swim paniced because he thought he might have taken something other than lsd. Could this be because instead of taking 2 hits at once he stacked them 2 hours apart?

It probably came earlier than that SWIY just didn't notice. The early effects of a low dose are extremely vague. No visual activity whatsoever, some minor body tingling. It probably took a few hours of peaking for SWIY to notice the subtle stuff that they did mention: speediness, confusion, etc.

Also next time don't have any expectations whatsoever. LSD works differently every time and it most certainly won't live up to the dime novel hype that has been thrown at it for the last 40+ years. It will do some amazing things if the person relaxes and releases their expectations. So get rid of any pre-existing notions because the experience is impossible to put into words.
