This is my first post on this site. Wutup.

SWIM has a prescription for 20mg amphetamine salts, but uses them only for fun. SWIM gets random muscle twitches when UTI, and the dose seems unrelated as they have are not always more common with a higher dose. The twitches are in random different muscles. Is this anything SWIM should worry about, or is it just a normal side effect?

SWIM never had this with methamphetamine at all.

Methamphetamine is prescribed sometimes in the form of Desoxyn because of less side effects than standard amphetamines. Amphetamines can cause 'tics' in some individuals. Maybe this just doesn't happen in meth because of the greater level of focus. It's nothing to worry about really. But it could worsen over time and make it something swiy suffers from when not on stimualnts also. But I can't see it as anything that would necessarily be permanant. It's just psychological. Maybe try not focusing on it so much and paying attention to other stuff(very easy for swim) to avoid/limit these? Otherwise, remember, "drugs are bad mmmkayy," meaning..swiy should probably abstain.

use some Mg against the muscle spasm, you have to take the Mg befor you get the spasms

I get spasms really bad and the one thing that helps me big time is neurontin/Gabapentin.

I don't think shose twitches are necessarily permanant. Swim was all twitchy for a few days after a huge huge huge binge once but got over it. Not that I'm trying to be a dick, but do you have evidence of permanent tics? I would be interested in reading it. Right now, my opinion lies that it's just a psychological thing that some people get over quick and others won't. Drugs can bring out the worst of us.

And about the meth thing. Methamphetamine has much more potent psychological effects than amphetamine. So at comparable doses, meth would offer less pyramidal side effects. Probably due to the extremely zombified state one would be in. Now, people abusing methamphetamine are obviously going to have more side effects than say, taking a 5mg desoxyn pill.

I was just saying how I assumed it was working. I've never read anything about it before so I was just curious if you thought that because your friend suffers twitches.

Thank you for the info, Betsym you are very right it should be reported to the doctor especially because swim is on 150mg of adderall per day.

That is a huge amount per day! If SWIy don't mind my asking; how long have SWIy been on Adderall to get the dose bumped up so high? Also, what condition(s) is SWIy taking it for?

Swim Has bi-polar and adhd and swim has only been on it since June of this year and was first put on 120mgs and then bumped up to 150mg in September
