Effects - Psilocybe Mushrooms as a Nootropic?

Seeing as erogloid mesylates such as Hydergine can be used as potent Nootropics or have "brain-boosting" qualities, SWIM was wondering if the same applies to psilocybin in certain magic mushrooms...?

SWIM vaguely remembers reading about it somewhere but - after scouring the 'net for an hour - has still not found and concise information on dosage or actual Nootropic effects, or any proper (or even subjective) studies into their use for this purpose.

If anyone has any other information on it then SWIM would be very grateful; links etc.. are a great help

(SWIM has also just ingested 100mg Modafinil and 0.090g of Psilocybe Semilianceata [Liberty Caps] to see if there is any effect and will report his findings. This comes to about 3mg of Psilocybin I think...)

SWIM is interested in this, half because of the nootropic and half because he has thought about low doses of psilocybin as a recreational drug, or as something he and his girlfriend can take when they are chilling as she isn't too fussed on taking the plunge into the unknown. Looking forward to hearing SWIY's results.

Very interesting idea. SWIM recently took a low dose of ps cyan (maybe 600mg, not generally considered a low dose, but judging from the effect he got) and most prevalent were good mood and a strong sense of clarity. Free from worries so he was able to direct his thoughts more than usually. He did not try to do any strenuous mental tasks like difficult math.

All this may sound familiar as a sense of clarity might happen while tripping but SWIM was not tripping at all. If availability tolerance were no issues he might have tried using ps mushies as a daily supplement for a short time.

SWIM had a fantastically productive day. He also took some Oxiracetam and Pyritinol to synergise with the psilocybin and it worked a treat.

Overall effects:

• Increased clarity of thought
• General efficiency
• Deeper, more philosophical thoughts
• Feeling more alert
• Infinitely more motivated to do mundane tasks
• Increased Memory
• Feelings of bliss that added to the motivation to work
• No visuals whatsoever (obviously a good thing when trying to work)

SWIM will definitely be doing this again. Probably tomorrow in fact as he has more work to do. SWIM will be taking

Green Tea Extract
Modafinil
L-Huperzine A

....as well as ~4mg Psilocybin taken in the morning, and another in the afternoon as a top up.

SWIM is hoping it'll be a very productive day
