Movies or Books About Amphetamines

Can anyone suggest any good movies or books that is about, or partly about, amphetamine?

The only movie I've seen that deals with this subject is Spun (which I loved) and Quadrophenia (which I loved even more).

I haven't found any books about speed but I'm still looking.

Salton Sea,

Irvine Welsh books (Trainspotting) almost all have copious amount of drug use, same goes for Hunter S. Thompson, can't think of anything else right now

all I gotta say is "The Salton Sea"

ok well I gotta a little bit more, the first 20 minutes of

"the Salton Sea" is amazing, the rest is ok. It stars Val Kilmer. It's about Meth.

also "Requiem for a Dream" all of you should go see this movie immediately if you are a film lover. it's about drug addicts, it's a dark movie, but it's brilliant, acting, editing, cinematography, directing, lighting are all brilliant.

I watched Salton sea yesterday, thanks for the suggestion. Requiem is great! I also heard that a movie called Human traffic is supposed to be about speed.

One's called "Tweaked", one's called "Rush". "Rush" tempts the viewer to try new things- be careful.

Naked Lunch is not really about amphetamine use but it is a very interesting movie, very different about a man who takes a very peculiar drug. Based on a book by the great William S. Burroughs. Hope that helps.<img border="0" src= "smileys/smiley1.gif">

I think that fear and loathing in las vegas, then rush...then hmmmm.. traffic, and blow ( not about amphetamines, but you should always start at the beginning ) then of course trainspotting, then requiem for a dream, then you think for a moment......do some drugs, after fear and loathing....do alot of drugs, after requiem for a dream and trainspotting you'll be depressed about drugs, but thenyou'll take a xanax and be ok....then you see "GO" then spun, and maybe you wanna see salton seas....but salton seas is more on the trainspotting and requeim level ( too much reality...) so you might wanna take salton seas and put it up there with requiem and trainspotting..no, no, you should keep it where it is.....ok so see the movies that I suggested in that exact order...but maybe rush first, then fear and loathing (gives you a break ) Oh, and don't forget to see "liquid sky" before you see any of the above movies......you have to explore every section of drug use in film. from the comical ,to the bizarre, to the miserable and " I wanna take a shower, cause I feel dirty ! " movies. I hope that this helps...oh , by the way, naked lunch is great also....thats just a good thought provoker.

True facts about the movie RUSH!! The real story took place in the town i live near called Greenville Tx. The club is closed down and the main apartment complex is still open but is named Spanish Trace now. I even know sum1 that hung out and was portrayed in the movie by a bystander. He is the stepfather of a good friend. He suffered a drug induced coma cuz of speedballin I believe. He made a complete recovery and works for a major company in dallas. He told me stories bout those days and how every1 ran to CA after it started going down. Its a big thing to stay up for a few days nowdays, they stayed up for weeks at a time. We have a good understandind bout methods of using but they had to learn experimenting. He told me how the movie was changed and different. He even remembers the real female narc. This is a forreal true story.

Speaking of amphetamine culture - are there other people out there who can use recreationally and still hold a job/life? I am Not implying that people who do use recreationally cant have 'normal' lives. Its just that it seems that that is the stereotype. I know some great people that are able to maintain great lives and still party!

About livin two lives, one a "normal" working person and the other a dopefiend... I speak for myself when I say fuck no... I've tried like three times and each time it starts out good, and bossman promotes ya for workin fast... Then eventually it all catches up. U gotta pick one lifestyle or the other, or be in the middle where you don't ever progress either way cuz ur tryin to balance it all out... Good movie is wonderland. True story, depressing as fuck but good movie...val kilmer, its kinda like salton sea...
