First Time Kratom Use for Withdrawals

Here is a message from my friend Bob who asked me to share it with you all:

I have sufferd from chronic Thoracic spine pain since my early 20's. I am prescribed Dilaudid 4mg (I use 2 per dose) and Fentynal 50ugh every 72 hrs. Every once and a while I end up short on meds (usualy end of month) due to extreme pain and my desperation to stop it! As a result I go into withdrawl symptoms...I hate those, it's not bad enough that I'm feeling sick from no meds but I also notice a severe increase in back pain, it's so severe I want to go to the ER for help. In my never ending attempt to find answers regarding relief of withdrawl I came a site that describes Kratom as a possible substitute for opiates. I wont go into details about Kratom and its chemical make up but I have read it is simular to opiate. I felt this may help my situation so I found a site that sells Kratom that looked legit (I also checked forums for good sellers) and purchased a small amount (10 grms super powder) for $xx. The day I got it I took 2 grms and made a small amount of tea, I did this just to see how I would react in my system, I didn't do it to get a buzz. I felt a slight feeling of euphoria that lasted about 1.5 hours and then it subsided. I was satisfied that my system could handle it. A week later I ran out of meds as I predicted and started getting sick 8 hours later. I figured this is the time to see if Kratom would provide relief from my symptoms. I had 8 grms left from the 10 so I decided to make a tea batch out of the whole thing. I took a Pyrex glass, put 4 oz's of water into it put it in the microwave and heated until it boiled. I then added the 8 grms and stirred. I already knew how bitter the mixture was so I grabbed some honey and added 2 tbl spoons to the tea. I then split mixture in half and drank 2oz's. After only 5 minutes I started to feel the effects, within 1/2 hour my sickness disappeared! It worked and I felt much better. I went to sleep at 12 that night feeling fine, I woke the next morning and drank the rest of my mixture (2 grms). I called my doctor and was given my scripts for the month, all will be fine, till the next time!

I have shared this experience to verify that Kratom can work to relieve withdrawl symptoms. This may vary for each person, if you plan on trying this, do as I did and test it 1st, take no chances. I am a legal drug user since I am prescribed them for pain relief, Kratom is also legal so I feel good that I haven't broken any laws as some do when they get into a med jam. I hope this will help give answers to those who inquire. I'm also glad I found this forum as it has saved me some much hated grief.

Re: KRATOM 1st use

Unfortunately, you are still breaking the rules here, so I have asked a moderator to help you edit this piece. Yes - even though it's legal where you are/what you do. But don't worry - no one is going to bite you, just help you edit the work. Here are the rules to review:

SWIM's experimentation with kratom is interesting. I hope things truly work out, and you keep us informed on SWIM's ventures to find a viable solution to his chronic pain condition. That sucks. Tell SWIM we're pulling for him.

Re: First Time Kratom Use for Withdrawals

In SWIM's experience kratom definitely helps with withdrawals from opiates. He found it to be wondrous stuff in how well it helps with withdrawals.
But do remember that kratom is also potentially addictive.
