Shelf life of prepared hit (UK)

Swim has been wondering, how long is it ok to leave a prepared shot for?

I.e. swiy's cooked up, drawn it into the barrel, but for whatever reason swiy can't shoot it straight away.........how long will it last sitting there? how long is it safe to keep it like this?

By the way, this is with UK gear, so with citric in there aswell.

Thanks you knowledgeable people!

Depends really, if too much citric is used then it will eventually precipitate out and leave crystals in the syringe, this can be sorted by putting the syringe with all air out of it in hot water. This can happen after a few hours like the next day or something.

As for the potential for bacteria and other nasties to start forming i have no idea.

CandiGirl is learning how to SWIM.
Re: Shelf life of prepared hit (UK)

Wouldn't re cooking it remove any of the bacteria?? But that to SWIM would defeat the object of already having it prepared!! Longest SWIMs fiend has left a shot for in a barrel is around 12 hours...

Are we talking ready prepared (as SWIY is busy or something) or a left over shot??

When any street fix is made it will always contain "some bacteria" this may of course be totaly harmless at the time of shooting and may still be safe after 24hrs?,The safest way for swiy to try to "reduce" any poss bad reactions would be as follows.
1)Re-heat liquid slightly more than normal,in normal clean conditions(poss rinse semi used srynge with 0.25mls of boiled water and add to solution)
2)Either use new sringe or sterilise old srynge(new srynge is best)
3)Re-filter liquid and prepare in normal manner!
The resulting product may well have lost a little of it's strength and swiy may well choose to only use one or two of the above methods and it will still not be 100% "safe" or as safe as any fix can be!It will however reduce the chances of a "dirty dig"

Re: Shelf life of prepared hit (UK)

A friend of SWIMS left a shot overnight and it solidified, kinda jelly-like but he re-cooked it and it was fine to use. He says that it was left in the fridge overall for about 12-15 hours...SWIM would be interested in a answer to this also as he has been thnking about making a pre-prepared hit to use at thing he has coming up...
