Clonazepam, Nitrous Oxide, and Hydrocodone
Swim is currently Rx'ed 4mg clonazepam daily. Tomorrow swim will be having some painful dental surgery. The dentist wants to administer nitrous throughout the procedure and afterwards give swim hydrocodone for residual pain. Swim has two questions. First, is there any possible interaction between the clonazepam and the nitrous (my dentist isn't the most knowledgeable guy)? Second, is 4mg of clonazepam too much to combine with hydrocodone, has anyone tried this combo? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Re: Clonazepam, Nitrous Oxide, and Hydrocodone
It's all subjective. 4mg would floor Swim, but if Swiy is prescribed it and takes that much daily, it probably has little effect, more like 1mg or 2mg to someone with no tolerance.
Yes, the clonazepam and hydrocodone can potentiate each other in the CNS sedation department, make sure to let dentist know what and how much medication Swiy is on. If sedating Swim, they need to be able to reverse it, and likely have all this in their office. Nitrous'll be fine. |
