Paraphanalia fingerprint evidence from very thin food/freezer bags

Is it possible to obtain fingerprints from tin food/freezer bags, I have never known anyone to have been caught this way despite bags been sent forensic testing, especially if the bags have been left outside for like an hour. Please can anyone enlighten me more because i know somone who is on bail for intent to supply crack and heroin.
