Pharmacology - Time and Absorbency from Blotter

how long does it take for most of the active compound to be released from blotter paper when it is placed in the mouth. swim would think that most of the compound would be out of the paper (and hence into your mouth) shortly after the paper is saturated with saliva (one or two minutes). some of swims friends leave blotter in their mouths for 20 or 30 minutes, but swim has always been of the opinion that the paper can be spat out after 5 minutes or so. any info?

Monkey always chews and swills the tab for about 5 minutes, then swallows it. Spitting it out is a bad idea! It seems very likely that swiy would waste some. Just swallow it and it'll go in eventually.

yeah, swim dont like swallowing the paper though. have a psychosomatic block against it. every time swim swallow the paper he get a weird feeling in stomach that makes the come up unpleasant.

From what I hear it really depends. Many LSD users agree that the paper should not be spat out but allowed to fall apart and dissolve in ones mouth. This takes about 30 mins. They claim that sometimes acid does not disolve out all that readily

Just as a quick sidenote that is partially relevant: there is a theory that holding it in the mouth until it turns to goo allows for a speedier come-up, but a less intense experience. Because the blood vessels in the tongue are the route of administration, the LSD is released slowly into the mouth and through the vessels into the brain.

When the paper is swallowed instantly (as was no doubt the case with pills, liquids, and other forms of pharmaceutical LSD) the come-up is lenghtened, but the trip is heightened due to the fact that the stomach processes all the LSD at once and then sends it to the brain. Therefore the brain is flooded with all the LSD in the paper at once.

And as to the subject: usually when SWIM gets paper tabs they're more like index cards and these always dissolve into a thin, barely noticable gel. SWIM would recommend that next time SWIY tries this they allow it to sit in their mouths until it's absolute goo and then try to swallow. It tastes and feels nothing like paper I'm told.

If Monkey was the guy in question Monkey would probably put it under his tongue and just forget about it, in that case. Just keep it in there for ages to absorb every bit.

Strange though, Monkey knows what you mean about the feeling in the stomach! I never really thought about it before, but Monkey thinks he experiences something similar (although mild).
