Effects - I Can't Get an Erection, please help!!!!!

Hello everyone,

I am new here and I was looking for some much needed help. I started taking 20mg adderal xr yesterday and for the past two days I have not been able to get an erection, or if I do get one, its soft and lasts only about 20 seconds or so. The thing that is really annoying is that I have never been so horny.

I took an antidepressant about 5 months ago, I forget which one it was but I stopped talking it due to the same terrible side effect.

I really really love what Adderall does for me but if it means I have to forgo my sex life then I will have to stop taking it.

There must be some other natural substance or pill that you can take to counteract this. If anybody has any suggestions than please please, pretty please respond to this post.

It is so incredibly frustrating. I finally find a good medication that subdues my ADD but it has a terrible side effect. The other side effects I can stand, like reduced apatite, but this one I can not stand.

Any suggestion would be incredibly appreciated.

Also, I am 21 years old and in great physical condition and prior to taking this medicine I had no problems with sex drive or impotence.

Uhm, how am I incriminating myself? I asked a question about the drug I am taking that was prescribed to me by a doctor. Its not illegal to ask questions about taboo things, at least not to my knowledge. I really hope someone has an answer to my problem.

It is illegal to talk about drugs that are illegal in any part of the world, and since the forum can't keep up with all drugs worldwide, self incrimination of any type is forbidden.

Besides that, inability to get an erection is a side effect of most stimulant drugs.

Well Adderall isnt illegal considering I was prescribed it. I realize that its a common side effect but is there anything to do about it?

SWIM never took adderall, but the effects will probebly get less over time..

Uhm, Panthers, the OP wasn't in violation the self-incrimination rule ... He was using it as prescribed by a doctor for ADD, there is nothing illegal about that, he wasn't misusing his medication nor was he illegaly using prescription medicine. You might want to be a bit more certain of something before punishing a member who wasn't doing anything wrong.

It is against the rules to talk in the first person about drugs which are illegal in most countries, even if they happen to legal in your country. But this is different with prescription medicines. If you are being prescribed an amphetamine based medicine, even though amphetamine is illegal throughout the whole world, you still don't have to avoid talking about it in the first person, as long as you're prescribed it and use it as intended by your doctor.

So photolitherland, don't worry, you weren't doing anything wrong. Now back on topic, like mentioned by fiveleggedrat, difficulty in getting an erection is a common side-effect from stimulants, but when taken in medical dosages like you're doing, it will disappear within a week or so when your body is used to the amphetamine, along with most other side-effcts such as supressed appetite, increased sweating, enlarged pupils and insomnia.

swim gets that too, and it's just one of the side effects of amphetamines. u should try to get prescription for viagra. that'd solve your prob

yeah, its probably effecting you BP in an oposite manner from say, viagra or similar drugs.

you should probably call the prescribing Dr and consult with them as there is nothing illegal/immoral going on here

There are ALOT of remedies, naturopathic for this. Even if you look up sites on ebay, sexual enhancement, a ton to choose from . Ingredients include (only a few here)

Once SWIY builds up enough tolerance you won't have that problem anymore.

it takes a good while to bust, but gettin hard isn't that bad. But if you can't get hard, find something REALLY stimulating. Look into different kinds of porn or what ever. Who knows what you might like. Or just get with someone you want to fuck the shit out of, and just get dirty. If all else fails, cut back on the dose atleast, or just take it on importaint days.

Don't use yohimbine with amphetamines; it's an MAO inhibitor and could potentially cause serious problems in combination with amphetamines or any other medication that fiddles with your neurotransmitter levels.

LostinLA, that list of yours is total junk. EVERYTHING has been claimed to be an aphrodisiac at some point in history. Bees applied stinger first to the cock, alligator shit, dog penis, asparagus, oysters, ginger up the butt, stinging nettles smacked on the ass. The truth is, it's all BS.

As for those "male enhancements" modern day snake oil. Waste of money and possibly a severe health risk.

Give your self some time and see how the drug effects you in the long run, a lot of effects like this dissipate after regular use. If you're planning on getting it on, don't take a dose right before hand. Usually by hour 3-4 you'll be fine, if a bit touchy. Nobody personally loves cumming on adderall, takes some time but well worth the effort.

And as far as yohimbe being a weak MAOI and hence dangerous with prescribed levels of amphetamines, not likely. Both would be in rather low doses and it's doubtful the combo would be more then slightly uncomfortable.

Still, skip the idea that you can fix this with drugs. The few folks nobody has met who've had erections off of Viagra or yohimbe did not speak highly of the experiances. They likened it to having a stone club between their legs, heavy, painful, unable to be satisfied, didn't sleep well at all. Kid who took Viagra said he couldn't get an erection for a few weeks afterward.

Kit concurs that erectile dysfunction (lack of hard on) and intense horniness are both common effects of amphetamine usage.
Whether or not things will improve is to be honest, debatable... Kit's male friend was never able to get a hard on during amphetamine use spanning a large number of years.
