Favourite strain?

SWIM was just wondering what SWIY favourite strain of poppy pod is.

So far SWIM has tried Turkish Whites, Dutch Maxis, Giganteums and Hen & Chicks. Of these, SWIM's favourite is, by far, Hen & Chicks. He even kinda passed out on this particular strain a few times. Well maybe not passed out but he nodded off for a few hours, whilst in the middle of chatting to folk on the net, without realising and woke up with a jolt (was that a bad thing, passing out/nodding off?).

Here's SWIM's ratings:

Hen & Chicks: 10
Dutch Maxis: 8
Giganteums: 6
Turkish Whites: 3

SWIM acquired all of these from the same vendor.

Re: Favourite strain?

Tasmanians by far. Don't be fooled by their size - bigger is NOT necessarily better!

Re: Favourite strain?

Yeah, the last time SWIM had giganteums he was having to do double the weight of what he'd usually do. 40-60g being an average dose for SWIM, but with the gigs he was having to use like 80g of them, de-seeded and powdered. Been very disappointed with the gigs of late.

SWIM is sticking to dutch maxis, which are nice, until he can get his hands on some more hen & chicks, hopefully soon! They were mmm lovely the last time SWIM had them. Lasted for ages too as SWIM was only having to do like 20g at a time. So cost effective as well as beautiful.

Are these home grown pods?dried and gotten from legal shops?or just illicitly obtained?

Re: Favourite strain?

No, not homegrown. And certainly not illicitly obtained. SWIM is a keen flower arranger and loves craft!
The guy SWIM gets em from buys the poppies in wholesale from all over the world, he's been providing this service for a few years now. And what a great service it is, says SWIM. He's very helpful and answers any questions you may have promptly. He's even helped SWIM out by laying on a box of poppies to SWIM a couple of times, and this was without SWIM asking him to do such things, the guy just offered. And SWIM has always had them delivered the next day, without fail.
It's for these reasons, and of course always top quality products, that SWIM has never shopped elsewhere.
SWIY should maybe try searching on a certain search engine for "poppy pods" and you may come across this guy. Who knows, SWIM certainly doesn't!

Oooh and SWIM just checked the site and he's got hen & chicks arriving soon!

Re: Favourite strain?

Swim thought that the strain usually doesnt make much diference (as long as its papaver somn. species or similar)and when it does its REAL hard to determine which has the best goods since how theyre grown, where theyre grown, when theryre grown ,what methods and when did they picked them for the floral show. That right isnt it? cause swims grew up on a nursery and see how you can make plants turn out a million ways. I think the best question is :Which "usually" has the highest 'average' M and seconday, C depending what ur plans are,.swim would love to know which would be the safest bet.swim knows goin big is a good idea as long as it papaver somn. of some kind. and what has the most average thebaine cuz if you have a strain with low thebaine wyou can make it more potent with less chance of nasty thebaine. swim thinks thats correct ---

Re: Favourite strain?

SWIM's FOAF told me they found the dutch maxis he had today to be quite more uppy than usual, that's gotta be higher than usual thebaine content eh. Though this FOAF of SWIM's had some more, from the same batch, not long ago, and is now mostly seeing double he tells me, and is finding it pretty difficult to keep his eyes open. He also tells me that he's getting quite nice visuals when he shuts his eyes.

And SWIchukbzle is quite correct, though SWIM's aunt's pet monkey tells SWIM, through the power of telepathy, that bigger certainly doesn't always mean better. The giganteums, SWIM's FOAF tells me, he's been getting of late are not much cop at all. But these are from the new harvest, according to SWIM's FOAF's uncle Romeo, and are just not as good as the ones he had before the new harvest.

But SWIM still stands by the hen & chicks being the best he's had, and he's not alone on this. And these comments he's read on hen & chicks from some imaginery friends go back years up to the present. They made SWIM juast nod off for a few hours, without knowing, a couple of times. No other strain has done that to SWIM. They also made SWIM hella itchy and even made him feel a little bit sick! And SWIM has quite a high tolerance to opiates. And nothing has made him feel sick like that since when he first started taking heroin many moons ago. So in SWIM's opinion, the hen & chicks are deffo a good high quality strain.

He just can't wait now til his FOAF gets more, he shall be stocking up he tells me, as they seem to be quite rare and hard to get frequently. Shouldn't be too long now til the hens lay their eggs, and just in time for poppy day

Question Re: Favourite strain?

I too have heard the only reports that seem definate are the hen and chicks i agree G_nome , .ive heard alot where it was like never definate with others i heard ovalies had something unique about them (not just theyre shape).but the hen n chicks seem to be the Alpha Pod minus the world or dried pods .In the US SWIMs friend couldnt find dried hen n chiklits anywhere ,also guessing since theyre bunched they must mold easier(not so Alpha). Not lookin for names (well wish there was an index but newho..) but are there places with these wonderful centerpeices ,that wont mold in ur vase.
