Experiences - very scary trip.

Guy heard of salvia and wanted to try it. He started out using the 10x. The first few experiences were very pleseant, but wierd for guy. He really enjoyed the feeling of increased self-awareness after smoking it. One night guy took a number of smaller hits, (about 6) three minutes apart. He was trying to gauge the effects of various amounts. The last hit he took turned real bad and was extreamely unpleseant. This is what he experienced:

After taking the last of a number of hits he experienced a feeling of disassociation with the physical universe. He felt like he was trapped in an alternate reality. All of the trees, shrubs, rocks, and basicially everything he could see turned into PEOPLE! It was like being in a very crouded room with nothing but people surrounding him. All the people were connected. It was like being in a giant fun house maze of mirrors! He turned around, and all he could see were people, right in front of him, far away from him, and connected to him! He came to the conclusion that he was dead and transported from his body to an anternate reality. All the people He saw were smiling at him, as if they were mocking his feeling of terror. Coming down from the trip was like waking up from a bad dream x10!

He attributed the bad experience from oversaturating his brain with the drug. (Taking a number of hits within a short period of time)

After deciding to try the 10x again he had a simular bad experience. He felt like he was trapped back to a wierd dimension. It was like everything turned into people! The walls were people, the floor he was walking on was made of heads of people. It felt very clostrophobic. The scary part of the experiences was that it felt permanent. This was only off one hit. It was not as extreme as the first bad experience however.

has anyone has had simular experiences as this? Does anyone have any interpretations or insight as to what could cause a bad trip like this?
