Re: is it safe to use an old syringe?

swim has re-used old rigs before but really wouldn't recommend it to anyone.however it can be done and somewhere on the H forum or the cocaine forum there is a guide to washing it out [sorry swim cant be more specific-it was ages ago he seen it]but please only wash it as a last resort as its not just a hygeine risk but the pin isnt as sharp etc...oh as a final note swim got an infection (cellutitus) from washing & re-using a rig a few months ago which got quite nasty and was very painful.never again!!!

Re: is it safe to use an old syringe?

SWIM has been caught short a couple of times lately and has required to re-use syringes. SWIM and her boyforiend are in the clear for any blood borne viruses to the best of SWIMs knowlegde however it is best practice not to use someone elses syringes no matter what.
SWIM has been advised from Drugs Action the best way to clean out an old rig is to rinse it completley with water and then to get 3 cups. One with water and 2 with bleach. When the first is rinsed out with water take it and fill with bleach right to the top. Repeat again with the 2nd cup of bleach. Then SWIM rinses out as many times as time permits with water.
Aparently this has been proven to eradicate blood bourne viruses such as HIV hep c etc.
However as SWIYCal states above it will not stop the rig from blunting so it is best to replace as soon as possible with a sterile syringe.

SWIM wouldn't do this. The chances are SWIY will give SWIYself a bad dig and this is not much fun. If you really desperate though do what the user above me suggested with the bleach. Should rid it of any contaminants. Make sure SWIY rinses the needle thoroughly after though
