SWIM boiled about 1g of finely ground mid/high potency weed with corn oil.

Will the fat in the oil kill my weed buzz? (And thus negate the weed effects when drank)

The active cannabinoids in weed extract into fat which means its a good thing. Thats why people make cannabutter is because thc and the other active cannabinodis extract into fat. So it would actually help. Although boiling it in corn oil, hmm i duno about that.

I'd like to add to answer the thread title no you didn't kill it. When swiy takes marijuana orally the buzz isnt ruined by eating fatty foods if thats the intended question. If swiy smokes and loses his buzz by eating thats not the same as when taken orally. The initial dose taken with fattenin foods will help absorb the thc into fat lipids.

Technically swiy could eat a gram of weed and eat a shitload of greasy frenchfries and the extraction would take place in his stomache. Hope you get what you need from this, if not be more specific.

Corn oil should be fine...

If you killed it by anything it would most likely been to much heat. Or not enogh extraction time.

You should use a double boiler.

FYI, boiling cannabutter with water on low heat is to make the butter liquid so the extraction will work faster. It needs no heat at all to extract into liquid fat.

SWIM made some decent Cannamilk simply by heating the milk (Get whole milk, more fat the better) just enogh to where u coulden't hold ur fingar in it... No more heat that was used, but u could prob. get away with it. keep it at that temp for about 30 minutes to 1 hour and drink.

Again no heat is needed to extract cannabinoids into fat. Heating the milk is pointless, phaze tried this in his dumber years and he scalded the milk and it was nasty as hell.

You don't need heat thats the whole message, you can put ground up weed in anything that has fat, ice cream, milk etc. Like phaze said the only reason heat is used when cooking is to make the cannabutter. The process is to put butter in water and heat it on low heat just enough for the butter to melt in the water. You could actually just spread butter on bread and put ground up weed on it and eat it.

The butter is liquefied by the heat(only purpose) and the cannabinoids extract into the fattening butter. The butter is then placed in the fridge so it solidifies again, then the water is drained, leaving a block of butter that has cannabinoids extracted into its fat.

The butter is usually poured through a screen or filter of some kind like cheese wax paper or something so swiy can filter the weed plant matter out.


No heat is needed for any extraction of THC, the cannabutter is made so it can be used in multiple applications such as toast for spaghetti, brownies, hell anything you can eat/cook butter with.

Why butter? Fat.
Why heat. To make the butter liquid so it can spread around the weed and suck the cannabinoids out called extraction, weed will do this with alcohol and fat.

Phaze has a hard time getting his dose correct because his tolerance is through the roof, a general rule he has found to be comfortable with him and his friends is to smoke some of the weed first and weigh it out ahead of time. IE roll up a 1g spliff and smoke it, see were your at on your "high meter" if swiy is stoned off from 1g then phaze would use 3 times that amount when cooking. Just an example swiys mileage will varie.


So conclusion is that it probably wasn't enough, and possibility that some of the active cannabinoids could have been vaporised out of the boiling, but doubtful because the more bio-active CBD, CBN, and THC does not vaporize until 370-392 °F.

There is alot of different theories and explanations of what heating it up does, like "decarboxylation", or "activating it". Phaze has tried every method he could possibly find online, just experimenting. Read tons of info on what works and don't work. Heating it up, just like with anything else in science would cause the atoms to move faster, so could possibly aid in a quicker extraction, though uneeded, simply because alot of the absorption is done in the stomach, thats the magic.

To speed the process up, try grinding the weed into powder. Phaze always grinds his weed into a fine powder before doing any kind of eating experiment, it works tons better.

If this is a regular thing for swiy, try with the normal method he normally uses, heating it up, or any other fancy steps needed to make it work better. Then on a separate day, take a glass of milk, grind the cannabis into powder and dump it in the milk, stir it with a spoon, make sure its fine as hell ground up, and set it in the fridge for 30 minutes to a hour and then drink and see whats up with it.

Also swiy could eat some fattening junk food with the milk to help aid the process take place in the stomach.

The more fat the better.
