I asked this in a thread, but never got a whole lot of answers or input
so i guess ill make a topic of it. Would i need an MAOI? Do you think this would be worthwhile at all, its low dose and crazy trips sound nice, but i dont really like the idea of a 30 minute trip. Do yall experience a steep dose curve? I would like to be able to take a small dose and go out and be able to function with some decent visuals and a good trip. And i have some amitrypiline lying around from being previously perscribed it, is it an MAOI? Zoloft? Or like syrian rue? Ill do some more research, just thought id get some opinions. |

Neither amitriptalline nor zoloft is an MAO inhibitor. Your best bet would be to go with a natural source form MAOI such as Syrian Rue (Peganum Harmala) or Banisteriopsis Cappi. With Syrian Rue being easier to obtain. On a side note please be extremely careful when experimenting with MAO inhibitors. This can be very dangerous. You have to stick to a strict diet for a few days to a week before taking an MAOI to avoid getting into a hypertensive crisis that can result in death. Avoiding certain foods such as anything fermented or aged and certain drugs. Go to the link below for any and all info relating to MAOI's and the diet mentioned. http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/maois/maois.shtml">http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/maois/maois.shtml</a> |

zoloft is an SSRI and will decrease the effects of most psychotropic compounds. 5MEODMT would only be effective orally with an MAOI. however a lot of people have had bad experiences with this, so one might advise to take it slow, and start low with both relevant compounds.

bad experiences as in bad trips where it was too much for them, or like physically bad as in stomach problems.
