Side effects - tramadol and blood sugar

hi everyone,

this is a question that came up after reading the experiences with tramadol. the pamphlet lists low blood sugar as a side effect. if this is true for a 50-100mg dose, wouldn't an increased dosage drop the blood sugar even more?

this seems like a reasonable explanation for the nausea described. it also seems like this could be a potentially dangerous situation, especially for diabetics/hypoglycemics.

any thoughts?

Swim attributes the nausea to the SSRI/SNRI side effects. Swim gets more nauseous with this than any other opioid.

Yes, if tramadol does interact with blood sugar at 50-100mg, chances are it will moreso at larger doses.

I'm sure the net has some good papers about this; google can help lots.
