Sass?
Swim went to a recent festival and there were a assortment of drugs one of which was called sass? Swim doesn't know exactly what it is swim believes it to be some sort of mdXX substance but is not sure it is a brownish reddish powder. Has any one else ran across this? Swim had some but later found out he didn't take enough.

Re: Sass?
It's a meaningless slang word used by some dealers to make their 'ecstasy' sound cooler that the other guys'. In some cases it has been used to refer specifically to MDA, though there's no telling whether or not that is the case here. The term comes from the fact that sassafras can be used as precursor to production of MDxx type drugs.

Re: Sass?
It's sassafrass. It's not the same as MDMA. A form of herbal ecstasy, basically. Similar sensations, but mellower.

Re: Sass?
Um... not too sure of the specifics. It comes from the leaf or fruit of a tree of the same name... it usually shows up as an essential oil. The active ingredient (safrol) is a precursor to MDMA. I'm not sure what kind of dose is normal, but I think it's eaten (as opposed to smoked etc). I know it's rather popular here on Hawaii. My understanding is that there are physical sensations similar to X but milder, and safer from what I gather. I haven't tried it, so I don't know the specifics of effects really. I'm not sure how popular it is on the mainland, but like I said it's here on the islands quite a bit. It's not illegal as far as I know, although I do think the oil is regulated and not allowed in foods etc.

Re: Sass?
As far as swim is concerned sassafras oil is used to flavor root beer make perfumes and if taken in high does will only kill you as its know as a carcinogenic. Swim knows sassafras is used to make MDMA but this cannot be straight sassafrole oil and sassafrole oil doesn't produce any psychoactive effects.

Re: Sass?
Actually it is suspected as a mutagen - which can result in cancers. But no solid evidence exists of this in humans.

Re: Sass?
SWIM thought SASS was MDA containing product made from sassafras extract (which is mostly safrole) that has been converted into iso-safrole and then aminized to result in MDA. It's usually not pure as such, containing residual byproducts form the original extract (hense the darker color than pure MDA which is a white to off-white powder) and often has a slight smell of sassafras.
