Effects - can you smoke pills

swim smoked 2 bowls of cannabis and then parachuted some vicodin before class today and i was pretty rolled. swim was thinking about if you could crush up some pills,[vicodin, xanax, oxycodone]crush them up, and throw it in some weed and would you feel them

Not a great idea. Other ingredients in pills may be harmful (im not certain though, depends). Even the drugs can become harmful....because some chemicals change when heat is applied. They may not even vaporize. It could also taste shitty. But i dont know if it would work.

This isn't a great question at places like this.

Generally, no. People do this all the time, but rarely does it work, and usually with drugs like heroin and oxycodone that burn better.

Vicodin aka Hydrocodone: No. Too much APAP in here. Not enough hydrocodone. Eat them. You could also CWE (make sure no APAP leftover) and smoke the evap'd solution.

Xanax aka Alprazolam: Likewise, not enough material, too much filler. Do not suggest.

Oxycodone: Done sometimes. Works for some and not others. Smoking pure material or CWE material is a way better idea than filler.

Swim has smoked and vaporized lots of pills in lightbulbs. Generally: Don't bother. Never really worked out good with pills. It's way better to eat or rectal pills.

Leave smoking to pure substances or certain opioids that just work better with it, a la heroin.

another thing swim was thinking that most likly wouldnt work is to soak your bud in the water after a cold water extract and then let it dry again and smoke it

I'm not sure if that would work. Make sure if attempting, CWE very well to make sure no APAP gets into the weed. You want as pure as possible material as possible.

Another big problem is many drugs burn and break down at hot temperatures, breaking down before you can inhale them. That is where vaporizing comes in handy.

Most drugs like hydrocodone are supplied as their salts to make them water-soluble. Heat applied to a hydrochloride would cause the drug to, at least partially, be destroyed. Each drug is different in this respect. A knowledge of pharmacology and chemistry would be required to come to a conclusion regarding the initial question.

What if you have these drugs in their pure form.? Either by some extraction or diversion? For instance, pure benzo or opiate powders. Could they be converted to the freebase form and smoked, or smoked in the hcl form? SWIM knows that not all drugs that are smoke able need to be in the freebase form. He assumes it depends on the drug.

Raven: Yes, that's true, they don't all need to be in their freebase form to be smoked, methamphetamine for example. However, freebase chemicals (almost?) always have a much bigger difference between the temperature at which they vaporise and the temperature at which they combust or degrade compared to salts, making them more suitable to smoke as less product is lost. Methamphetamine is generally sold as a salt because the freebase form is a rather caustic oil which is really impractical to handle.

Yes, it is possible to extract opiates from pills, freebase them, and then smoke them. Swin has done this a few times to good results with morphine and OC. I'm not sure how well this would work with benzos, however. A little searching tells me that the boiling point for Diazepam is around 500°C, which seems very high compared to meth (~215°C) or THC (~240°C from memory, might not be exact) so you would likely just destroy it before any is vaporised.

Im sure it depends on drug chemistry, the vaporization-point to Burn-point comparison, and lastly, the pharmacokinetics/pharmacology.

Swim is very interested in CWEing five 7.5/325 lortabs, and smoking the evaporated solution.

could anyone confirm this? or give swim a sure fire way of succeeding in this?
