Experiences - First Time

I've heard numerous times of people smoking cannabis for their first time and not getting "high." I was just wondering the number of users here that felt something, nothing, kinda sorta but nothing near what you were expecting, or other and the experience that went along with that great day .

Someone who cannot read the rules said,

"My first time I was 13, hanging out at a new friends house/neighborhood after school. As soon as we got off the bus we went straight to his neighborhood buddy's house where him a few others started tokin. This went on throughout the afternoon with many different people varying in age and experience. Being as I had never done the stuff, let alone seen it, smoked a cig, or had a beer before ffs I stayed sober since I still had to talk with his mom later on. However later that night, another kid and I stayed the night. The smoking continued in doors where I was offered the first hit I would accept. I took a few hits in rotation of some potent herb according to them(long time smokers) from a beautiful peice of glass, a nice sized bubbler with awesome colors. Within minutes I was soaring, I could barely move "Mario" anymore on the super nintendo then proceeded to get so slant eyed I wasn't able to see normally. Despite these new feelings I had a big ol' grin from ear to ear and cotton mouth like never before. I said fuckit with the game and went to sit down and munch on some chips where I soon knocked out.

I woke up in the morning around 9 feeling extremely well rested but something different, I guess kinda like a hangover but not painful, just a little slow and lethargic despite feeling like I slept for 2 days "


Anyways, what was your first time like? Also why is it that some people don't feel anything and some do? I've heard your cannabinoids have to be activated or something of the sort but wouldn't that mean everyone's first time would be fruitless? I dont know...let us know your story

SWIMs first time was at a party. SWIM had already started drinking alcohol when he took a toke. He felt a bit different, but assumed because it was only one toke it had worn off after a few minutes. SWIM kept toking more and more throughout the night to try and get a feel for what the high was like but SWIM was too drunk for this to happen.

Eventually SWIM took a toke that made him fall into a wall. SWIM decided he had smoked enough and would have to wait untill he was sober to do an analysis of the high.

SWIM never got a whitey though (probably something to do with the 3 energy drinks SWIM mixed with his vodka).

all in all SWIM found it to be a very good night, and really liked this combo.

For his very first smoke SWIM felt nothing at all but then again, it was a single measly toke of weak-ass hash that he probably didn't inhale properly. The first time he smoked proper weed he was blazed. Legs felt numb, big smile etched across the face.

Swim first smoked good regs having a veteran hold and light the bowl for Swim. Swim got floored off a few short, small hits. Swim remembers his first time having a lot in common with alcohol intoxication but a lot sillier and more fun.

SWIM tried when he/she was twelve and was very blazed. While staring at his/her reflection in a zippo lighter, a slow yet almost overwhelming high krept up on him/her; SWIM was very light headed everything seemd vividly surreal and dreamlike. My camel isn't sure how to respond to the thread as he experienced the same as NB.

The first time camel smoked he just got a prerolled joint with a bit of hash in it and smoked with several friends. One got messed up, but he thinks it was mostly placebo.

The first time camel properly smoked, with some elders around to provide proper stuff and show technique, he got blitzed out of his mind.

The camel found that most people he smoked out for their first time also most certainly experienced strong effects, as he would keep smoking with them until something concrete was felt.

SWIM's first time was when he was 13. He got high with 2 other regular, daily smokers. They smoked 1 bowl of mids. SWIM may not have inhaled properly though(he's never smoked anything prior to this event), because he didn't feel high. He just told himself he was high and had a placebo effect. Although he did have a difficult time chasing them down after they stole his bike, so maybe it helped to slow him down a bit.

SWIM's first time was around a camp fire with some of SWIM's buddies at age 14 or 15. SWIM smoked a big fatty joint pretty much by himself. SWIM didn't notice any effects until he was done with the joint. He felt like he was breathing in spiderwebs, then it advanced to gut wrenching giggles followed by straight up tripping. SWIM was totally out of it, he could only focus for 2 seconds at the most. SWIM thought he was a giant pink alien with 2 legs and long tentacley eyes and no arms. Then SWIM thought he was a mech warrior and proceeded to blow the shit out of everything and make robot noises as he roamed around barefoot in the dark.

SWIM feels that he is particularly sensitive to weed, not sure why, but he still loves it and smokes it occasionally. SWIM took a massive bong rip and ended up trippin again for no apparent reason. Good times for SWIM.

swim did'nt really feel much. guessing that's because he did'nt really know how to inhale but the time after was unforgettable.kept forgetting how he got from one place to another and laughed the whole time.

The very first time Swim smoked, he went out behind his school and smoked one bowl with a friend out of a pop can (Yuck!). He felt a little sluggish and very scared of getting caught but otherwise had no real effects. The second time Swim smoked several bowls out of a bong and got nugblasted out of this world. Swim probably didn't smoke enough, or inhale correctly the first time or he would of actually gotten high. Swims opinion is that many people are like Swim and don't smoke properly their first time giving rise to the "you can't get high the first time" urban legend.

swim didnt get high his first two times. swim thinks beggnders biggest mistake is not knowing how to inhale right. most kinda jsut mouth the smoke and dont know wtf they doing. its good to start with like a cig and teach the newb how to inhale beforehand.

First time SWIM smoked cannabis SWIM was 15 and had already drunk a bottle of vodka. Someone offered SWIM a bucket of which SWIM had never even seen before. Being drunk SWIM took the bucket sat back with a big smile on SWIMS face. Couldnt stop smiling until SWIM started feeling ill and then whitied outside and collapsed in the alley

1st time swim smoked was at a concert in Liverpool, swim got talking to two swie who when the concert got going asked swim to hold swim's hands out whilst swie skinned up. Now swim didn't have a clue back then (only 16/17) and thought "shit someone is giving me drugs, if the police see this I'm going to prison for years"!!! but, swim just held swims hands out whilst the pot was put in the skins. The freindly swie's then passed round the joint and as swims foaf had smoked some swim felt obliged to do the same. After then having what was probably about a jay a piece throughout the night swim felt 'different' not very but, found normal things quite funny. Also swim got so hungry so after the concert went and ordered a load of food from KFC.

When swim got home swim and foaf had had such a good night swimmers went about sourcing this 'drug' swim's now knew to cannabis and the rest as they say "is history".

the first time swim smoked it was totally unexpected. he went to a friends house after school when he was 11. when swim got there they imediatly left to go to older kids house. when they got there swim just sat and waited for the weed. swim was so nervouse because he kinda didnt want to do it. the older kid[13] handed swim a cigarrete and swim was so scared to hit it. then when the weed was delivered by an older brother they rolled a fat ass blunt. when swim got the blunt he was scared but kinda excited. he took one hit and then thought hey its not that bad. swim took 5 more hits but didnt get high. it wasnt till maybe the 10th time he smoked that he really felt anything because he didnt really know how to hit it. now swim has smoked at least over 700 times.

SWIM says he recalls something like, "diving into a half gallon of Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream". Anyhow, SWIM says this happened long ago but remembers falling in love. A friend of SWIM used to provide him with Kool-Aid packets of homegrown at school where SWIM would use the scales from the science lab to weigh his new passion. That makes SWIM smile. Memories...

SWIM's first time was awesome. He went to a friends house and his older brother and cousin were playing cards and rolling a couple joints. One joint was good weed and the other was dirt weed.

Moving into the garage to smoke, SWIM was told to hold the smoke in his lungs after each drag. He coughed something bad (virgin lungs).

The 2 joints were finished. SWIM noticed no effect--maybe a strange tingling feeling but that was all. Then SWIM's friend's brother looked closely at SWIM's eye's to confirm whether he was high. He smiled and said "Oh yeah, his eye's are blood red!"

It was shortly after this statement that SWIM went into a fit of uncontrollable laughter. Along with SWIMs friend. ANything and everything made them laugh. They laughed so hard at nothing it made them cry. It seemed to never end. After what felt like several hours had passed, Things calmed down. Still very high though. SWIM fell asleep still high several hours later in the early morning.

Never since has weed caused SWIM to laugh like that for no reason.

The first proper time SWIM smoked the reefer (aside from one drag on 2 seperate occasions which he had no effect from beforehand) was in his garden with 2 friends. He was expecting to feel nothing like what had happened before but after about 10 minutes he suddenely realised that he had been staring at the floor without blinking for the duration of the session. When the spliff was passed to him it was like someone had jumped out on him and really startled him. He smoked about 5 joints (with friends) in that session and was completely gone. Walking up the garden and through his house to his bedroom seemed like 15 minutes long although it was probably just 2.

The first time swim had a smoke was when he was about 12yrs old. The effects of smoking a bong were very nice. Swim could not stop gigaling at everything, lol. The next time swim had a smoke a coulple days later he had 3 bongs in a row and was wasted big time. Swim ended up whiting out, being sick then falling asleep for a few hours.

SWIM's experiences seem pretty similar to a lot of people here...first time he smoked was in a park at night...had a joint or two between a few people and felt 'something' but nothing mind-blowing e.g. things seemed a bit funnier, slightly happy/warm feeling, walking seemed fun etc but is difficult to tell how much of this was 'wanting' to feel something rather than 'actually' feeling it. The next time swim smoked properly and it blew his mind with euphoria, wild imagination, CEVs and everything. Swim thinks it's because of not inhaling properly that people don't experience it properly the first time.

The first time SWIM smoked, it was maybe like a gram of some mids. SWIM didn't really get high as he would describe it nowadays. SWIM just felt like his eyes were super dried out and he remembers that he felt sort of weird while walking back inside. The next time he smoked, his mind was blown. He was so stoned. Shit, SWIM almost got hit by a car. The things that happen when SWIY are young are crazy.

When SWIM first smoked, he took a few hits off a wood bowl SWIM's friend's sister gave to him. SWIM thought he was high, but to this day he is not very sure. It might have just been the hype that SWIM felt. But SWIM felt good that entire day.

SWIM knew the next time he smoked though he was high for sure.

First time, soapbar, low grade, mildly buzzed, but nonetheless preferred to alcohol. Once my cat visited Holland, he never went back to soapbar and reports that his first experience of proper cannabis was a revelation; he hasn't touched alcohol since.
