first time lsd: Music recommendations
Hello everybody. New to this forum and LSD noob. oh, and excuse my english. I have a 2 questions that for some of you may sound stupid. Me and few of my friends are planing to take LSD for the first time. We are preparing everything cerefully. We don`t want even smallest thing toruin this night. I`m a tranceaddict and my question is about music. Should I stick to what I like or should I get something else. Please recommend some lsd friendly music. and finally, while tripping will I be able to change songs on my mp3 player, or should I prepare a playlist. thank youEdited by: m3lon |

my advice would be to make a playlist of all you favorite songs.
also, try adding some grateful dead and phish if you're into that music at all. the beatles are great for LSD trips. SWIM has found at the peak of a high dose LSD trip that he can not read a computer screen for the life of him. the words all swirls together and melt and shit sometimes. make it easy on yourself. |

Unless you are going to be dosing pretty high, you'll be ABLE to select
songs even at the peak. I'd still recommend a preset playlist, however, because it'll let you just sit back and relax. I have to admit that I normally just switch from CD to CD so that I can hear exactly what I want to hear next. Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Flaming Lips, etc. are all good. If you're into trance a lot more than psychedelic rock, however, then stick to that. Happy tripping ![]() |

If you like trance, then some Goa or PsyTrance will be
mind-blowing, especially if you like to dance. Also, something ambient like Aphex Twin or Shpongle for the return to baseline. Last edited by Jatelka; 16-02-2007 at 10:22. Reason: Machine Language Removed |

A friend of mine who is really into the LSD/nitrous combo is into
trance and he highly recommends that if you're comfortable during the trip and there is nitrous around... It tends to make trance music just go insane. Not really a big fan of the stuff personally, but I can definitely see why it attracts people. |

DieForm (hope i spelled that right) is industrial/trance techno that is a must for triping.
also, even if you don't normally enjoy this kind of music, I would recomend you listen to some greatful dead and some phish for anybody's first LSD trip. |

Trance is kool, I personally like Drum N Bass when I trip, Drum N bass is just really kool dark and twisted euphoric music. I love it, and I love my trance sometimes, plus some funky breaks. If you ever start listening to drum n bass, get Dieselboy's Dungeon Masters Guide, it's Drum N Bass at it's best!!

Pink Floyd is a great choice, especially their first album featuring the extremely psychoodeelic and plainly fucked up musings of Syd Barrett- "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn" Wicked trippy awesome |

For me the impact of set and setting is more obvious on lsd than
anywhere else. Thus planning ahead -- as you are doing -- is a wise move in my opinion. The idea of playing what you like makes sense to a point. For me lsd is about going places I don't usually go and while the acid alone will likely accomplish that, the music you choose can direct where you want to go. Stan Grof in "LSD Psychotherapy" has some interesting comments on this topic. My favourite piece of music on acid beyond all else is Berlioz' Harold in Italy. Having it come on and hearing it for the first time right after listening to some Metallica opened a very interesting space while on lsd. |
