Gall Bladder and Dihydrocodeine

SWIM has a friend who has had his gall bladder removed. He seems to think it was because of his Dihyrdocodeine abuse. SWIM and his friend used to take alot, and he means loads! Now that was years ago and his friend has come across just a small pack (30 / 30mg, no paracetamol) and would like to indulge in a small session but is very weary about taking any in case of any adverse reactions (due to the lack of gall bladder). SWIM is wondering if it would be safe. He knows about safe dosage and all that jazz.

Re: Gall Bladder and Dihydrocodeine

What did they give SWIY for pain relief after having their gallbladder removed?

Re: Gall Bladder and Dihydrocodeine

It was SWIM's friend so he is not quite sure. SWIM and his friend have both done alot of research into this matter and SWIM is sure that they give opioids/opiates for the pain and is assuming that it would be fine, as there would not be an excessive amount being taken.

Re: Gall Bladder and Dihydrocodeine

If SWIM was SWIY he wouldn't worry about it and just proceed as usual, taking all the usual precautions that one should when dealing with opiates.

Re: Gall Bladder and Dihydrocodeine

Swim is curious, was it paramol or prescription DHC that SWIY and his friend used to take? SWIM is wondering because if it was paramol it may be paracetamol poisoning that did it rather than DHC.

Re: Gall Bladder and Dihydrocodeine

It was pure DHC, or rather a pill with no other drugs. So prescription.
