Urgent breathing problem. Should I go to hospital??
swim was smoking some shit tonight his last hit was like an hour or two ago and to make a long story short he held in the hit for way to long and felt right away some discomfort/slight pain but now an hour or so later he is in agony, he can only manage to take the shallowest breaths (i mean almost the minimum of air needed) and mainly the pain is just starting to become to much. Any advice of what do? this ever happen to anybody before? any soothing remedies? if my breathing gets to much more shallow i'm gonna have to go to the goddamn hospital (such an inconvenience)

Re: Urgent breathing problem. Should I go to hospital??
Even swim, who is self destructively stupid would call an ambulance or at least get a taxi along to A&E. These things can get rapidly worse very unexpectedly.
To ease your mind, it's probably ok but you have got to find out. |

Re: Urgent breathing problem. Should I go to hospital??
swim has many times had breathing troubles with meth and in particular opiates. only even went to er once and gave a shot of narcan when the breathing was actually from anxiety... in all occassions he recovered on his own. even once od'd on too much mj, all of a sudden found he couldnt breathe on his own, he needed to physically tell himself to. very scary. he does not suggest going it alone. u will probably find that u will get more and more scared and bring on an anxiety attack therefore making it worse. be safe and go and get checked out!

Re: Urgent breathing problem. Should I go to hospital??
it got pretty intense last night and i probably should have went to the hospital but i could swear i've had this happen before and i think it ended up going away on its own. right now doing a little better than last night but still in a lot of pain, rubbing vicks on my chest seemed to help a little. might try taking a steaming shower in a little bit. i swear the first thing i'm gonna do when this feels better is have a cigarrett, i want one so bad lol
insomnizombie added 2 Minutes and 26 Seconds later... and just to clear things up swIm is the one who did the drug, i'm just the one who has the lung problem (probably too many cig). i think that first post was confusing but now you know i was talking about two different people Last edited by insomnizombie; 10-10-2008 at 18:38. Re: Urgent breathing problem. Should I go to hospital??
I think it is best to go to your doctor asap and get a checkup. Just complain about short breath and serious pains. If you had this before then there can be several explanations. In most cases you would really want to be aware of the problem.
