Effects - DXM-5-htp

I apologize if there is a thread on this already but my great-grandmother was wondering what type of effects she would get if she mixed her usual dose of dxm with a 100-200 dose of 5-htp. any helpful feedback would be appreciated

DXM has some SSRI action, so be careful.

well my great-grandmother has taken 5-htp but never even really felt the effects so she was just thinkin if she took some while trippin shed feel it better n she kinda just wants to know what to expect or if it is in general just a stupid idea.

Not de facto a dumb idea, but I rather doubt you'll get a whole lot out of it that you wouldn't from just DXM. I also doubt there's much risk of serotonin syndrome as long as you keep the doses fairly low and move up slowly, but I've heard of people getting close and definitely having unpleasant/adverse effects.

Risk of serotonin syndrome. Not recommend. Some report better effects, but having SS while high on DXM sounds like pure terror to Swim.

tho while serotonin syndrome is a real phenomena it is excruciatingly rare among healthy individuals. Again, i doubt the 200 mg's plus dxm will really do much difference for you gg mom but who knows, i would say worth a try
