Vyvase
Does anyone have any information on Vyvase? According to what I am reading it just gained approval in the states in April of this year and as Addy's patent expires the company, Shire is looking to capture a significant part of their market share. I read something that said that insouflating would not work. Does anyone have any first person anecdotal evidence about this? It's being marketed to the adult portion of the ADHD market. Seems they did something clever and made the release slower by adding an aminoacid that has to be hydrolized before the drug is available to yoour body. I think the generic is lis-dextroamphetamine

Re: Vyvase
the answer is yes. Vyvanse 50mg contain 30mg inactive filler and 20mg dextroamphetamine and yes when insufflated is not active due to the filler prevents absorption of the dextroamphetamine in any other way than through the GI tract...SWIM has tried when SWIMS friend gave him 20 for a low price...they work well although less intense than adderall at the dosages swim was responsibly taking

Re: Vyvase
The d-amphetamine is bound to l-lysine and released as the two are separated in the liver. There is no generic, but lisdexamfetamine is the chemical name. Vyvanse is just one of those stupid-and-totally-non-informative empty signifiers the drug companies shell out for marketing purposes.
They can be insufflated, but there's not much of a point, as it still needs to be hydrolyzed by the liver. |

Re: Vyvase
The amino acid prodrug is mixed beneficiary IMO, I am glad it cuts down on abuse through enhanced bio-available methods.
Also I believe insufflation will yield no effect? or at least not activate most of the drug? |
