The best doctor visits?
SWIM had been off opiates for a few weeks now, one because usally they dry up in the area for a few weeks and two for tolerence break.
Anyways SWIM found a few perc's from a friend, nothing much but enough to be excited... SWIM came down with bronchitius and went to urgent care... Doctor perscribed SWIM Tylenol 3 with codeine and swim went to get script filled... The dumb pharmacist gave SWIM 15 5mg VICODIN instead of the codeine! SWIM was overjoyed... A few hours later SWIM called doctor and told them that the pills hurt his stomach, and doctor faxed over a script for 240 ml of TUSSIONEX! SWIM went from no opiates, to a shitload of tussionex and vicodin over the course of a few hours... SWIM wants to hear about other peoples doctor visits that went better than expected. |

Re: The best doctor visits?
Well swim has had a lot of health issues lately. swim moved 6 months ago to a place 11/2 hours from all swims doctrors. So swim had to change pain management docs. Swim found a doc out here that turned out to be a totally jerk. He loved to make his patients let him do experiments on their backs or other places where they had pain then give them whatever meds they needed. Swim fell for his first recommendation that swim allows him to do an injection a "different way" then it was ever done. He would come from the side and islolate the nerves etc. swim woke up from the anesthesia and was in tremendous amount of pain. they juiced swim up with whatever they had their but exptected just percocet to keep pain under control. Swim told doc that the percs werent' doing it and he was a jerk about it. This is a pain management doctor who is suppose to be compassionate about his patients and he was being a total jerk. No compassion at all. He told swim, "call my office tomorrow"and walked off. SWIM ended up in the ER that night. Swim couldn't walk.
Anyhow. SWIM was stuck with this guy and it sucked. Before, anytime swim had any issues with meds not working, etc, swims doc was awesome and would rx something else or have swim take more. Not this guy. So swim called swim's old orthopedic doc and he refilled some Norco swim had from him. It was all he could do over the phone but he was more than willing. (swim was on fentanyl patches and Vicodin from Dr. D*^&head. swim didn't have any more cause swim was hospitalized due to seizures and was transported 3 different times and all swims belongings, plus swims bag with all swims meds including pain meds, were lost. Swim told Dr. D*^&head who said deal with it basically and come to my appt that was today. swim was in withdrawl and this guy didn't care at all. SWIM never had an issue with SWIM's meds. So that was uncalled for. Thank God for my ortho doc Ok so SWIM went to a hospitalization follow up appointment with her primary care doc. Swim told her doc about Dr. D^*&head and how she was stuck as far as meds go. SWIM had no intention of asking him for any meds. My ortho doc had given me some and swim had made a return appointment at the pain management clinic swim was being seen before swim moved. Swim was just going to have to drive over an hour but oh well, it was worth it. To Swim surprise her doctor said what a F'n a**hole that other doc was and said he would take care of my chronic pain management. He wrote swim a script for oxycontin and said that this was just a start! that we'd figure out the right dosage. Amazing. Swim went in to just discuss my hospitalization and walked out with a script for Oxy's and a dr that cares a lot about his patients. That was one of the best visits swim has had in a long time |
