Drugs have messed me up
Hey guys SWIM started taking drugs about a year and a half ago it started out with weed this eventually progressed to coke then ecstasy then speed.
He was hanging around with the wrong people and eventually found out they were using him and talked shit behind his back, he eventually became extremlley paranoid and always think people are saying things about him or laughing at him. SWIM now cannot have a normal conversation with anyone, When someone asks him a question or starts talking he has to say what? Because its like he cant hear them but there talking loud, he cannot look people in the face anymore, he cannot talk properley anymore he talk and then think to himself wtf did i just say and omg i cant believe i said that, swim has had many thoughts about his mum and dad at one point he believed they had adopted him and werent his real parents, he also believed they were putting something in his food or spitting in his food and still believe that today. His brain feels completley mashed he's a total freek and cannot talk to anyone because he just cant talk anymore his confidence with people and himself is so low. He feels so dumb and doesnt no what to do!! He has thought about suicide recently. And have some crazy thoughts and have questioned his sexuality because he thinks people think he is gay and he thinks he walks in a gay way. Can anyone relate to swim? Last edited by ~lostgurl~; 03-10-2008 at 00:36. Reason: swim |

Re: Drugs have messed me up
Hello, welcome to the forums. Please familiarize yourself with our rules--notably those concerning self incrimination--before further posting (you may find it handy to read through the link in my signature below "noob survival guide").
Has your pet attempted quitting drug use? If not, he should do so immediately and hopefully most of these issues--especially the paranoia-- will quite likely be resolved. He may also want to spend some time seeing a councilor to discuss his anxieties over identity issues such as self confidence and sexuality. Just because someone walks in what may be construed as a feminine or "gay" manner does not indicate they are homosexual. And, for that matter, if your pet is homosexual there is certainly nothing wrong with that and the discovery and embracing of that aspect of himself may prove a most beautiful and rewarding experience. The best thing any of us can possibly be is ourselves. As I said though, first ditch the drug use and stay clean for several months, then start worrying about identity issues, as the drug psychosis will definitely not help one gain a clear picture of reality and one's self. |

Re: Drugs have messed me up
No, the damage can and will be undone with proper medical care. It takes time and a little courage and forbearance.
Contact your local mental health services and begin seeing a councilor to help get through the rough times and help get the old head back on straight. Here are a couple resources from a quick google search that might be helpful for finding help: http://www.ufindus.com/mental_health...rvices/england dh.gov.uk/en/Healhcare/NationalServiceFrameworks/Mentalhealth/index.htm (copy and paste above address into browser) All the best, h.a. Re: Drugs have messed me up
Many of your concerns seem typical of a teenager, but the drugs may also have triggered a mental illness. You are obviously distressed by these things, but there is no way that anyone here will be able to tell you if you will feel better soon. The best thing would be to seek professional psychiatric help and have a complete evaluation by someone who is trained in these things.

Sadly enough, this is a direct result of the way you are living. Feeling like a criminal, or a throw away, poor reject, lower class citizen and being paranoid of your very own self is no way to live. Moderation is key. That's were things went wrong. |

Re: Drugs have messed me up
Listen to the above. They have great info here.
Don't do any drugs for a LONG time. You need to abstain to return to normal brain functioning. You know what this reminds Swim of? His shitty Pavlov response that he developed from opioids. Swim used to use opioids all the time, usually one that caused much nausea and vomiting. Now, when using, Swim did not care about the effects, so he was nauseous pretty often. When he stopped using that drug, he found that he had severe nausea that followed him everywhere. He would wake up nauseous, get nauseous from swallowing pills, even THINKING about drugs would make him get sick. It's been maybe 6 months now with this shitty effect. It make's Swims life much more difficult. Swim however, needs to focus on changing the stimulus that causes these feelings, and try to reprogram how his brain responds to certain things. He KNOWS that would make the association break. What that means for you is that you have created a response of being paranoid. You need to 1) Get away from what causes it (drugs + crazy people) and 2) Work on trying to conciously change the response, preferably with someone you trust or someone licsense to help, like a mental health expert. Hope that helps! Best of luck. |

Re: Drugs have messed me up
dude this is weird. i went through all the things your talking about britishrebel. i went through the paranoia too, i also thought i was adopted and thought maybe the were putting meds in my food. i couldnt look people in the eye and i couldnt hold a normal conversion either. my friends thought i was gay or maybe they were just trying to fuck with my mind but it still like you, made me question myself. but the good news is, in my experience, it can all be turned around. to tell you the bad news you probley have drug induced psychosis. hell maybe you had some bad friends and they pulled some fucked pranks on you. i would like to talk to you, maybe emial or an instent messaging if you have the time. maybe i can help out as ive gone thought all that and ended up on the other "sane" side...lol. ill be praying for you too, it cant hurt =)
