When you break it down to 9 year period and look at it closely you'll see the answer.

Peak
25 pills a day -> 9125 a year

Over 4 year period is 36,500 + 25 (leap year).
So 36,525 of the 40,000 were consumed in the last 4 years.

3,475 in the first 5 years. (Less than 15 a week yea)

It was in london and swiD knows ectasy can be cheaper than a beer at the pub.

Blind freddy can work out or draw conclusions as to what could of happend as use increased. Maybe this guy founded something like google n was rolling in it and never sold any just ate em or maybe he sold em to support him n his habbit who knows....

SwiD could draw up 50 possible situations that could easily account for this ten fold...

Then to engage in this sort of life style for the last 4 years ecstasy would of been his job, constantly moving from one point of use/ sale to the next sale/ point of use or just got fed them while following someone around lol.

To swiD tho the 40,000 unit consumption is propaganda in itself as 100% of swiD friends who have travelled through england estimate 3-5 ectasy tablets in england the equivalant to 1 good one downunder.

So being nice lets say 2.5 britsih e's = 1 aussie e (lol the ironing of the pound to au exchange rate here..)

The 40,000 becomes 16,000 to swiD, still a shitload but any fool consuming this much would needa be capitalising some how. Make em half as strong just consume twice as much but sell for same on the street...

Its a nasty nasty world out there so many ifs, buts, what ifs, maybes etc etc

Swid would like to read the whole report/ all information available becuase the bottom line is there is a big difference in mgs of mdma consumed on a daily basis than x amount of pills.

Thats very true in the uk. For the price of a beer you can get numerous pills, definately more than two, depending on the beer in question. Its always been dirtcheap for pills in the UK for some reason, my monkey tells me.

Same here. theres a bit more info on him at this page from some journal, but they dont actually talk about what the pills are, or whether he was using pure mdma.

Thanks Synesthesiac but heads up price discusion in figures with units is frowned apon. Swid would suggest editing your post and removing the prices as such in relation to outlawed substances and a general comparision of you could get 3 for the price of a beer at the pub etc if less likelly to wind yourself up with infraction points. May still be frowned apon tho swiD is still new. But perspectives like australian ectasy prices compared to uk should be aloud to be refferenced to much like the price of petrol.

But tourists well quiet often will pay double what you claim this is deffinetally a fact. SwiD is going to search about why price discusion etc isnt aloud so he has a proper undersanding but assumes its to prevent dealing as such. It gets hard at times being from different countries etc to put things into perspective when such situations occur.

But ultimetally a 25 pill aday habbit in london is about on par with the cost of being an alcoholic in some countrys to answer Jamal's question, happens everywhere.

1) The pills could have been total shite~swim used to take plenty of e's back in the day(89-92/3) "In the begining there was jack and jack had a groove and from this groove came the groove of all groove's****Sorry got caught up in the moment"~In the begining 1 dove would have you dancing for a good 6-8hrs maybe double drop for a club then on to a rave,back then 1 pill would cost Double Digit pounds-by 1993 both prices and quality had dropped by about 50% so having 2 pills would be normal maybe 3.
2)Swim hasn't had an E for some time 8yrs poss and the quality matched the price~(about the same as 20 smokes)
3)Is it not plausable that these pills were not of "top quality standards?"

if the price was mentioned in the atual artical say it said he was paying £x for his pills. would be fine but at least one post in this thread a swim said what they atualy pay for pills or there aproxamate price seeing as swim may not attualy know, but this is wrong and leads to price disscusion. which i belive is still not aloud on this forum.

^^That's correct, no price discussion. The posts as they currently stand above are ok - I think it's pretty common knowledge that "ecstasy" pills in the UK are often very cheap and very low quality. But there's no point in further discussion of whether and how this guy could afford all these pills. Apparently he did somehow, enough said.

If this is true, it certainly shows the safety of MDMA - and whatever else may have been in these pills. Imagine if he had taken 40,000 tylenols? 40,000 salt tablets...

However this character wins the same prize as the guy from the Guiness Book of World Records who ground up a bicycle, placed it into capsules, and swallowed them. In an attempt to make the record book. He did - as the world's stupidest person!

In London it would not be particularly expensive. 25 pills a day would not exactly be breaking the bank, especially comapred to many opiate/cocaine/amphetamine/cannabis users I know.

All things considered, this guy seems to prove that MDMA is fairly safe. His daily doses were well above the no effect level established by US researchers, and he still only has moderate imparement. That's somewhat encouraging, anyway.

Thats the first thing a friend of mine thought when reading the article. He does wish though, that the Mr. A stuck around for more tests. Such as liver and kidney's tests!
