Experiences - Is part of the anticipation of getting it part of the buzz for SWIY?

SWIMs boyfriend has always said that part of the actual buzz of getting crack for him is the anticipation of waiting for it, whilst waiting for a dealer to arrive has always driven SWIM stir-crazy.
That said, SWIMs boyfriend is usually the one who would go and meet a dealer. A while ago when SWIMs boyfriend was away SWIM started phoning a dealer and meeting him herself. Suddenly the whole waiting thing didn't seem as bad as she really did find the anticipation of going to meet him and getting crack was a rush in itself.
Does anyone else find this/have similar experiences?

Swim has heard this many times before, usually in relation to cocaine/crack/etc stimulants as opposed to other types of drugs. Swim believes it is a common sentiment. Swim personally enjoys the drug use far more than the difficulty required to obtain a drug. Swim believes that people finding a positive element in anticipation are more likely to have abuse/addiction problems, from what he has seen.

Now, preparing/making something, yes, Swim def. agrees that is a good rush. Swim knows doing an acetone thing on coke made him good and ready to rail it all.

SWIM always found that not waiting for the dealer but the anticipation of getting the drug and then preparing it(heroin for SWIM) was a rush by itself....Also, SWIM found a rush when driving down in the hood as thiswas a different environment than he lives in and just got caught up in that whole scene. SWIM gets very anxious waiting for the dealer and really hates that part as when SWIM has to resort to street level dealers, they always tell you that they will be there in 5-10 minutes and then show up 30 minutes later

Swim once gave a street dealer $120 bucks and drove the foo' around for a bit. He conned Swim out of all his money and made him look like an idiot when he never came back with the drugs.

Drug prep. is a rush, regardless of substance, although euphoric drugs always are more exciting. Nothing like prepping powerful opioids for use! Rolling a joint or packing a bowl just isn't on the same level.

Yes, SWIM has been kept waiting ages sometimes ... what really pissed SWIM off was one week (a while back now) she'd had her student grant money and it was about a grand. At one point when she was at her worse with crack-addiction she could've quite easily spent it all in a day probably but by this time she was dabbling with heroin to come down and this had really helped her to put some kind of limitation at least on her crack habit. So anyway she knew she was gonna spend the money on drugs and didn't really care but she tried to make it last and so was keeping her use under a couple of hundred a day. She managed to make it last six days - and of course for those six days her dealer loved her. He was always with her within ten minutes. One time she rang him and he literally said to her 'walk outside your house now and i'll be there' (he doesn't actually know exactly where she lives - just the estate shes on btw - SWIM used to meet him at the top of the estate, on the main road, but thats besides the point!).
Then on day seven SWIM only had a small amount of money left (enough for one little lump of white) but she figured he owed her given all the money she'd spent with him that week so she asked him for one bag of h as well. OK, so he agreed, but took almost two hours to show up with the bloody stuff! SWIM was fuming - it's ok when they constantly come late but when you know that they can get there quickly (remember she'd seem him a lot that week and he was never more than 15 minutes), SWIMs blood was boiling.

More recently SWIMs boyfriend told SWIM that he'd rang a dealer one night and the guy took like an hour and a half to turn up or something so a couple of nights later he rang him again and asked how long he'd be and the guy said 90 minutes cos he was stuck somewhere, so SWIMs boyfriend said to leave it and he called someone else. A couple of hours later and SWIM's boyfriend was lighting a pipe when there was a knock on the door (this guy does know where they live unfortunately!) and it was his dealer. So SWIMs bf said 'but I told you to leave it' and the guy went ballistic at him, shouting and swearing on the doorstep and trying to make him buy what he had regardless. Arsehole.

SWIM thinks the worst thing of all though is when you've already had a few pipes say (this used to happen to SWIM in the days before she used heroin - and had no way of comming down, ie calming down) and you've run out of gear and you ring a dealer and they say twenty minutes (for example). That twenty minutes (waiting for crack when you've already been smoking but run out) is the longest twenty (or more like forty) minutes of your life!
