Kratom used to aid in opium addiction & kratom withdrawls

Hi, my first post on these forums, but I've been reading for a long time, some very useful info on here.
So, anyway. SWIM has been on a 2 month long poppy pod tea binge, he was doing at least 100g daily, maybe more if he wanted to gouch out. He is now on his third day clean from the tea as he wants a break from it for a while, hates to be a slave to a substance. SWIM was on 240mg dihydrocodeine yesterday and the day before, he plans on taking 120mg a day for the next 3 days to hold him, and that's it, all gone!
So SWIM was just wondering if it's worth getting some kratom to help with the likely withdrawls he expects when the dihydrocodeine runs dry. And also would like to know how effective kratom is when used like this and if there's any withdrawls from kratom. I know it's habit forming if taken daily, but don't know if there's any actual physical withdrawls like ye get from a true opiate.
Any help on this matter would be very appreciated.

Oh and SWIM still has half a box of nice poppies left, so the temptation's always there, SWIM says it's a bastard!

Short answer: YES!

SWIM has been addicted to opiates many times, including poppy tea, and he definitely noticed a huge difference between going cold turkey with complete sobriety, and easing himself off using kratom. In fact, kratom has worked so well for SWIM, that the last time he used it to come off opium, he hardly noticed any withdrawal symptoms at all! However he did need to use kratom all day for about a week.

I recommend for every opiate user to at least try kratom for this purpose and see how it works, since it worked so well for SWIM. Obviously, everyone's experiences will vary. But it is definitely worth a shot to avoid those terrible, terrible WDs.

Also, SWIM never noticed any withdrawal symptoms from the kratom itself, even after using a few times a day for 7-10 straight days. SWIM has never used kratom regularly beyond this amount of time, however.

Personally, SWIM would consider just using up the rest of his poppies before attempting to detox. Even on kratom, the temptation will still be there, and one doesn't want to disrupt one's detoxification process by giving into temptation after being sober for a few days. This will only make the process harder.

SWIM has never really been able to quit any substance if he still has a stash of the substance lying around. SWIM's supply must be gone for him to stick to his sobriety plan.

Or, better yet, if SWIY is serious about quitting right now, then throw the rest of the poppies away!

Thanks for the reply. Could SWIY recommend any particular type of kratom? There seems to be so much choice!

I am not as well-versed as other members of this forum on this topic, but I can tell you about SWIM's experiences, as I know him quite well.

He has tried Bali, Thai, Maeng Da, and Ultra-Enhanced Indo (UEI) variants of kratom. The UEI was by far the strongest, but it is also by far the most expensive. Bali is the cheapest, but he found it to work just fine. Thai and Maeng Da were possibly a little stronger, but he didn't find them to be worth the extra money.

Another thing to consider is that the quality of the kratom can differ quite a bit between sources. Since the discussion of sources is not allowed here, I cannot talk about SWIM's experiences with various sources. The best advice I can give SWIY, however, is to try a few different sources in smaller amounts first before making a bulk purchase.

SWIM used kratom to help with opiate/alcohol addiction... SWIM still uses kratom occasionally but has had no issues with dependence.. he has had 50 grams of leaves sitting in his dresser for months now.

Bali is generally accepted as the best for opiate withdrawals especially for the price the extracts and uei are better in the sense that they are stronger if the balis not cutting it you can step up to them.

Re: Kratom used to aid in opium addiction & kratom withdrawls

Well SWIM must say after having no tea for 3 or 4 days now he has had no withdrawl symptoms at all, just first thing in the morning before he gets some kratom down his neck. SWIM says the bali was ok but he just got a fresh order in today of premium green vein indo which is much more to his liking, he also got a nice wee freebie of some super red vein indo. SWIM reckons this is a miraculous plant! SWIM really can't believe how well it works, no lethargy or malaise or depression. Quite the opposite in fact. SWIM is well pleased. Oh, and the dreams! What dreams SWIM's been having, so vivid, almost lucid.

*THIS IS AN EMAIL I RECEIVED FROM A FRIEND WHO IS IN DIRE NEED*

I'm in a similar boat mate, what dosage of the premium green vein indo are you using? I've just been measuring by teaspoon which as i've researched is roughly 2.5 grams.

I've had 5 grams this morning and its definately helped with some of the aches. I'm on roughly day 7-8ish with a slight mishap on day 3 (which turned out to be bad quality stuff quite luckily)

The only thing is that the past few days i've had doses in excess of 30 grams and felt not much of a thing but it deffo's sorted my withdrawals out. I'm slowly getting there!

I was using pot at the same time which really helped just relax my mind and body, and was also usefull for catching the odd nap which we all know is near impossible during withdrawal from opiates (hard opiates)

The main question is here is what kind of dosage are you guys using of premium green vien indo to fiend off withdrawal and help sleep/aches/mind/body/soul.

FUCK METHADONE PROGRAMS! The drugs clinic here in the UK were fucking useless, won't even give me any benzos to help.

Mind, soon as I have some money, its weed all the way from now on.

A SPEEDY reply would be greatful, so fingers crossed. And wish me luck. Surely I am on the road to recovery!
