SWIM has been wanting to grow Acacias due to their surprisingly high DMT content. SWIM however lives in The Netherlands, which has a temperate climate, lots of rainfall and long, cold & harsh winters in which frost is not uncommon and therefor SWIM was wondering a couple of things:
-Are there any SWIYs out there that have any experience with Growing DMT-rich Acacias, such as A. Simplicifolia(AKA Simplex), A.Longifolia, A.Maidenii, A.Phlebophylla & A.podalyriaefolia, in temperate climates similair to those of SWIM's country? -Do SWIYs know any DMT-rich Acacia Species that are (relatively) easily grown and fast growing? (if need be in a greenhouse) -Can SWIYs link/tell SWIM more extensive information on the Cultivation of fast growing, relatively easily grown, DMT-rich Acacia Species concerning Seed germination, Soil, Watering, Sunlight, temperature and plant nourishment and such? SWIM found this himself, but desires to know more of Spice-rich Acacia cultivation: http://mulga.yage.net/acacia/ help would be much appreciated

Re: Growing Acacias in North-Western Europe?
A.podalyriaefolia can be purchased in several specialized european trees sellers.
It is grafted and grows easily outdoor in europe (minimum temp= -5 to -8°C). It is also called a. moutteana. swim wonders if it has a clean alcaloid profile, and if it would be safe to bioassay barks with a mao inhibitor any infos ? |

Re: Growing Acacias in North-Western Europe?
Thanks for thinking with SWIM!
So according to Wikipedia, A.podalyriaefolia contains "Tryptamine in the leaf,[8] 0.5% to 2% DMT in fresh bark, phenethylamine, trace amounts " however SWIM does not rely on Wikipedia since it is an incomplete and often faulty source of information. SWIM also couldn't find much more on A.podalyriaefolia concerning conclusive, reliable biochemical analysis of it's alkaloid profile on the internet. Maybe any SWIYs have access or direct knowledge concerning these issues? SWIM isn't very concerned about alkaloids that are dangerious in combination with MAOIs as in ayahuasca as SWIM is interrested instead in a relatively easily growable, safe & clean source of pure, smokable spice. Any helpfull info on Acacia Podalyriaefolia's(A.K.A. Acacia Moutteana) Alkaloid Profile would be most Welcome. Also SWIM has a Bio-Chemist friend who could do Chem-analysis of plant materials to check that out, but then SWIM first needs some samples of this plant's material to bring to said Bio-Chemist friend. |

Re: Growing Acacias in North-Western Europe?
the 2% comes from a scientific publication, so it should be reliable
and it is for fresh tree bark (I don't know about the variability of this measurement regarding to trees, season etc...) anyway, 2% would deserve a more in depth scientific research ! swim knows a swim who has this tree in his garden additionnally, swim was told by swim that he made an attempt to extract fresh bark using a simplified a/b technique, and that resulting extract was positively smelling the swim in question did no bioassay |

Re: Growing Acacias in North-Western Europe?
SWIM was also surprised by the rediculously high spice content. For this Reason SWIM put Podalyriaefolia in his list.
Perhaps SWIY could come into closer contact with SWIM and send him a couple of Samples of his Friend's Podalyriaefolia bark. SWIM will have his BioChemist run a detailed Chemical Analysis on this material and determine the alkaloid profile and %-age. PM SWIM about this. |

Re: Growing Acacias in North-Western Europe?
SWIM's understood that generally it is not welcomed to ask for/mention suppliers of any kind on this forum.
SWIM wonders if this forum would have any objections to discussing suppliers of Acacia Podalyriaefolia and/or Acacia Phlebophylla and/or Acacia Simplex/Simplicifolia cuttings and/or seeds. Preferably Dutch or otherwise European suppliers. Several google searches proved to provide little information on this to SWIM. |

Re: Growing Acacias in North-Western Europe?
Quote:
That's okay though 'cause SWIM's just found a supplier of Acacia Podalyriifolia seeds in his own Country. Now what SWIM needs is how to Cultivate Acacia Podalyriifolia from seed and keep it well alive and healthy in a moderate northern european climate with more than half of the year little sun and clouded skies, long, cold and wet autumns and an occasional winter frost. Is a GreenHouse recommended for keeping temperature high throughout the winter? Can it survive without Electrical heating & lights and without a Dehumidifying system? Etc etc...Whatever information anySWIYs can tell SWIM about this is most welcome. Last edited by =SKA=; 11-10-2008 at 23:21. |
