People - Aren't you tired of mindless drug prejudice ?

I am. I'm tired of hearing people say that * a specific drug or drug category * is bad . Even so more if they haven't ever tried it .

You know what i'm talking about . Little Johnny who is a heavy weed smoker and pops the ocassional X : "Pharmaceuticals ..damn ! How can people take those..just destroying their liver ,those drugs are bad ..they're not even drugs. " . Come on, how many times haven't you heard that ? Especially from people who haven't even tried them .WTF !

They can't even think with their brain : that if MDMA was legal and sold in 5 mg pills at their local pharmacy , their *totally cool and ok * night in the club with an X would be exactly the same only he would take 20 pills from his pharmacy . Only better , he would actually know what he's taking , know how much he's taking , and it would be cheaper. Just like swim's perfect night out clubbing is - 600 mg of DXM and some really strong coffee.

I perfectly respect people's choices, i never impose my taste over anyone's . But taste and stupid unbased prejudice are two different things alltogether.

And then there's people who say a specific drug is bad - take nutmeg for example . Why man ? Cause you didn't enjoy it ? Cause 2000 other people reporting on erowid didn't enjoy it ? What if swim did ? What if one man on this planet ever really loved the experience ? How can that drug be bad ? And i'm not talking about those guys who talk about a drug being bad for your health/mind etc. I'm talking about people like those anti-piperazine freaks . WTF ? Some people enjoy them , every person is unique and every drug is unique , you just have to find the ones that really mix well with your body and mind . Right ? But why call it dirty/nasty/bad if it's just not your drug? Why despise other people for loving it ?

Plus , ask most people who think like this why they think like this ? They'll keep repeating completely illogical statements , and when explained where they're wrong , they either have nothing to say or they say " fuck it ..i don't care , i'm not interested , leave me alone " . I've recently encountered this kind of behaviour in one of my two best friends ever ..long-life friends. It was really dissapointing. Like really .

Generally , i ignore this kind of behaviour , but i just felt like discussing it here. I'm totally used to this kind of mentality, a lot of friends have it , but i do consider them narrow-minded and constrained by prejudices and social chains . ( general society and drug society both have their chains , unless you can think for yourself ) .

Well hmm....OP. I am going to simply admit that i have been one of those assholes. If I didn't like a specific drug i would call it pathetic. But you are wright man, it's me.

And visa-versa! Some LOVE the ones i "hate".

Although, it also depends on the user, IE: If some drug-virgin tried dxm, nutmeg, etc, for their first time and loved it, it could be out of ignorance. I mean be honest, legal drugs are usually dirty, simply put. Unless you try the real ones(specific clean action), you(not OP) are NOT a proper judge.

Swim finds that many users consider legal things "dirty" as well, especially DXM. Swim has a friend who does coke, E, all kinds of stuff, and she came to see him one night. He was popping DXM caps, and she said:

"What are you doing?"

"Um, DXM"

"Like cough syrup? [Insert name], what's wrong with you? Are you crazy?! That's gross, why would you ever do that?"

Swim personally gets tired of hearing people who use drugs complain about certain ones, usually heroin, meth, and coke. Swim does agree, things like PCP, Nutmeg, and Datura are essentially, drug garbage, and best left for scientific research purposes only, and not use/abuse.

I was once told by my father "You better not smoke pot, smoking pot leads to doing cocaine!" I simply laughed at him, and told Swim did it reverse. Swim's Father, not mine, used to smoke pot when he was young too.

There is no use in wondering why they think like this. They have no idea what they are doing. Just look at them and you can tell.

What annoys SWIM is the way people form these opinions is without reason. With some of the people he knows it became a done thing to bang on about how they hate K because "it ruins parties". Well, don't have it before you go out - fucking obvious to SWIM. Then some twat will pipe up with, "It's horse tranquilliser!", as if there existed one person in the U.K. who didn't know that.

Then they'll sit there shovelling crystals of MDMA into their mouths and snorting piss poor charlie that gives you a headache.

Still, it's not just drugs. Most people seem to form the majority of their opinions without any regard for logic or facts - that's the world we live in.

swim will admit he has been very prejudicial towards certian drugs. he tends to only think highly of the drugs he likes (only cocaine heroin, rarely meth, and lots downers like benzodiazepines and barbiturates). when anyone would say they were doing ecstacy or something swim would think they were stupid. swim now realizes this is dumb as everyone is different. people react differently to different substances. the only thing that pisses swim off now is when people single out heroin (diacetylmorphine). for example "so and so did this, this, this, and even heroin." or "i love oxycodone, morphine, hydromorphone, but.... heroin, thats just f'ed up... disgusting. how could someone do something like that!" anyone else encountered this?

It works both ways. Most of the junkies SWIM knows have a patronising attitude to anyone who does drugs but isn’t addicted to heroin. They seem to believe that someone can’t be said to have really done drugs until they’ve had someone OD in their house or committed a crime to get money for drugs. They’re mostly ignorant, full of shit and believe some utterly ludicrous stuff about other drugs (think bullshit urban myths).

Don’t get me wrong; SWIM’s not saying heroin is worse than other stuff, just that the junkies in the small town where SWIM lives are mostly idiots (there are a couple who are alright).

honestly i've met some really really nice people who just happened to be heroin addicts , i really think those guys are much better than every pothead.
in my country everything except weed is considered kinda "deadly" or very very damaging . i remember with joy when people told me be carefull and i just simled and said , wouldn't it be better if you take care about yourself and let me take care of myself ? they thought i was nuts till the first one got in a mental institute because of he's psychosis , weed can do that too you know ...
everyone is equal except potheads IMHO. ok he shoots heroin , so ? as long as he doesnt steal anything from me and doesnt get me into trouble because of he's habbit he is my best friend ... simple as that. heroin may be meth or any other "bad" drug.
it's funny how a teacher can consider you he's best student , smart , funny , cute and well behaved and when he finds that you're an addict suddely you're the "black sheep" of the class/community. black people are not discriminated anymore and usa is about to be run by one , now it's time for junkies to be treated like people because a lot of them are smarted and better that "the regular man". take a look around drugs-forum.com

I was talking to my very smart friend the other day, who's prodrug and a heavy smoker.

I discuss drugs all the time with her, indepth, including all the pharmacology and mechanisms of action, and a little bit of chemistry.

I was talking MDMA, specifically, when she asked "Doesn't that stuff cause holes in your brain?"

She said that when she was in school, DARE taught the class that E causes "ice-cream scoop size holes in the brain, even from one use".

Society programs people to what they want people to believe whether fact or fiction and people believe it as fact. Study how the mind works.

Fact is Sasha Shulgin done these numerous times of numerous compounds and is still alive and normal as any other person his age.

As far as one's own body chemistry agrees with the OP , find what works with your chemistry. What works for one will not always work for another because any bodies chemistry is different.

Certain drugs are proven by organizations and have been funded by the Gov't, to work for specific problems. example mdma works on pdsd(post tramatic stress disorder)

MDMA was also used in marriage counseling and therapy back in the early 80's, and I'm not positive, but I also think the mid-late 70's.
