Re: help wanted for chlordiazepoxide

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chlordiazepoxide Has tons of info.

If for some reason you can't go there, I'll sum up:

Chlordiazepoxide (pronounced [ˈklɔːrˌdaɪəzepˈoksaɪd]), is a sedative/hypnotic drug which is a benzodiazepine derivative and is marketed under the trade name Librium. It has a medium to long half life but its active metabolite has a very long half life. Chlordiazepoxide has amnestic, anxiolytic, hypnotic and skeletal muscle relaxant properties.[1]

This drug is marketed under the name Librium.

Pharmacokinetic data Bioavailability ? Metabolism: Hepatic Half life: 5–30 hours Excretion :Renal

Internationally, chlordiazepoxide is a Schedule IV drug under the Convention on Psychotropic Substances

There ya go.

Here are two other people experiance with librium. Librium is a type of benzo, which is kinda like a seditive to oversimplify things.

I would not recomend more then 100mg at a time.

Re: help wanted for chlordiazepoxide

Chlordiazepoxide (Librium) was the second "benzo" to hit the marketplace - alongside diazepam (Valium). Roche was the pharmaceutical company that released these two. Both were considered safe and non-addictive when placed on the market and had sweeping success - replacing meprobamate (Milltown) and many of the barbituates then widely prescribed and popular. This non-addictive aspect has since been proven very false.

Librium is known as being the least euphoric benzodiazepine, as well as least sedating. For most people. Milage will vary. But due to it's lack of euphoric properties, for most, it has been one of the most widely used benzo for alcohol withdrawl - not as likely to cause a secondary addiction among those inclined to abuse drugs. The usual dosage is from 5mg to 25mg and is supplied in those dosages in the form of capsules. Combinations with other materials exist.

The same cautions and warnings that apply to all other benzodiazepines apply to this drug. Concombinant use with alcohol and other CNS depressants is strongy contra-indicated.
