SWIM needs some advice on a Nitric Oxide+Alcohol+Cocaine situation
Take a look at this story about SWIM and some Nitric Oxide+Alcohol+Cocine.
On Tuesday the 16th of August SWIM went to his local YMCA at about 4:00, SWIM took some SuperPump250, a nitric oxide supplement just prior to it. SWIM had a good workout and went home. Later on SWIM had dinner at a friends home and SWIM drank some wine and a few beers. He got a decent buzz going on. SWIM decided to go out that night as it was a full moon and there was a party celebrating that at a nearby bar. While there SWIM continued to drink and got pretty drunk. Right before SWIM was about to go home he ran into some people he knew, but didnt know them very well. They invited SWIM over for an "after hours" so he decided to attend. Once there SWIM was very drunk--close to blackout drunk. They all started doing a bunch of blow and the plate got passed in his direction. SWIM took a rail and barely remembered it. Next thing SWIM knew he had been there for 24 hours and SWIM had done probably about 1.5 g's of blow. Maybe even a tad more. He continued to drink while at the after hours. The guy w/ the blow didn't care about money and he just wanted someone to do it with. If the guy wanted $$$ for it SWIM would have not spent his $$$ on that shit and gone home. Unfortunately that was not the case for him. Normally SWIM talks a bunch of shit about coke but for some reason that SWIM do not understand, when he gets really drunk, SWIM makes horrible decisions. SWIM hadn't done the stuff in several years but for some reason that SWIM does not understand he did it. It is SO not his style. SWIM got home on Thursday the 18th at 3:00 am and immediately took a shower. While drying off, SWIM's right pinky toe became numb as well as part of the side/underside of SWIM's foot. It is not completely numb, but still numb nonetheless. SWIM went to bed thinking that it would be gone when he woke up, it was not. It is not Monday the 22nd at 8:30 pm. For the last 115 hours SWIM's toe/side/underfoot has been numb. Now SWIM is very concerned if this is ever going to go away. SWIM really cannot tell if it has gotten any better, or if SWIM is just getting used to it being like that. SWIM now knows that alcohol+blow=very bad stuff. SWIM can only imagine how bad it is with a nitric oxide supplement thrown in the mix. Blow constricts the blood vessels, Nitric Oxide dilates the blood vessels. SWIM thinks that it is like having the gas and brake on at the same time. Something has got to give. If anybody can offer any advice on this subject for SWIM it would be GREATLY appreciated. SWIM, a distance runner and avid weightlifter, would be very sad is it did not go away. He is hopeful that over time it will go away. Please help SWIM out! He needs it.

Re: SWIM needs some advice on a Nitric Oxide+Alcohol+Cocaine situation
Swim takes nitric oxide as a pre-workout supplement. They sell the stuff at stores like GNC. IS SWIY thinking of Nitrous Oxide? Maybe it is nitric oxide, if SWIY has some info on it please share. SWIM doesent take a huge dosage of it before workout and most of it should have been out of SWIM's system 12 hours later however some was present SWIM thinks.

Re: SWIM needs some advice on a Nitric Oxide+Alcohol+Cocaine situation
Nitric Oxide is an ever-present molecule vital to many bodily functions. It wouldn't really need to be put into any equation considering drug combinations. I know it was already mentioned but just be wary for the cocaine alcohol problem, that's the only real issue here. It's efficacy as a bodybuilding supplement seems to be up for debate. Everything else looks fine.

Re: SWIM needs some advice on a Nitric Oxide+Alcohol+Cocaine situation
RaverHippie,
What SWIM is wondering is if this numbness is ever going to go away. SWIM has read up on the deadly combo of alcohol+cocaine. SWIM fully knows now how bad of a combo that was. Is SWIM is screwed?? Is there any hope for SWIM?? This is the 1st time is 3+ years that SWIM has done coke. His blackedoutness is the reason for his bad decision. His alcohol was the problem that led to the cocaine binge. Once the 1st rail goes, its over for swim. Thats why he has stayed away form it for so long. It will be hard for SWIM to enjoy a beer form now on knowing of one night's horrible ramifications. Last edited by Dickon; 24-07-2009 at 09:19. Reason: tidying and quotes |

Re: SWIM needs some advice on a Nitric Oxide+Alcohol+Cocaine situation
Has SWIY tried to just stretch it out? or other means of increasing bloodflow? The cocaethylene puts more strain on the cardiovascular system. It could be coincidental. But if it persists it may be wise to go to the doctor and just complain about a sudden onset of unprovoked numbness.

Yes, seek some form of medical attention.
Cocaine and alcohol is not deadly by default, but can be in excess. Swim knows many people who mix the two extremely often and have for years and are alright. This is not everyone though. |

Re: SWIM needs some advice on a Nitric Oxide+Alcohol+Cocaine situation
Swim has a dr. appointment on thursday. Should he tell the truth? Swim could do without this being on file forever. Swim's knows his dr. well and maybe he can leave that part out and still offer advice. Swim hopes that they can get to the bottom of this. This problem is very annoying for swim. The numbness affects swim every time he moves. Swim cannot feel the tile floor like he is used to, the blades of grass of swim's foot (the side/part of underside). When swim curls his toes in it feels like there is something small wedged in between his pinky toe and foot. Swim went jogging and it felt awkward.
Swim thinks it may be nerve damage that could repair itself over time, or perhaps a constricted peripheral blood vessel in the leg. Swim hopes there is not a blood clot or some irreversible neurological damage to the brain. Swim has been a drinker, often times heavy, for the past 6/7 years. Sometimes he has periods of time where he takes it easy, sometimes he hits it hard. Drinking is what has gotten him in this situation and swim has addressed the problem, and needs to stick with his new goals. The toe/side/underneath of foot is not cold or discolored, as of it was short on blood. It is not completely numb, just partially. Swim wonders if he goes to the YMCA and takes his SuperPump250, a nitric oxide supplement which is a vasodilator if may knock something loose and regain feeling. Swim may talk to the Dr. 1st though before trying that. Swim's nightmare began after barclose this very evening one week ago. Any more thoughts for swim? |

Re: SWIM needs some advice on a Nitric Oxide+Alcohol+Cocaine situation
Hmm. I believe when you see a doctor and then another, you must request your files to carry over. Therefore, drug using records would stay with your current doctor should you switch. Need confirmation on that though.
Doubt a vasodilator would do anything. If you are worried about not getting the problem taken care of, be honest. Good to hear it's not exactly falling off either. |

Re: SWIM needs some advice on a Nitric Oxide+Alcohol+Cocaine situation
fiveleggedrat,
Swim is glad that it has not fallen off either!! Swim is also glad that it has not gotten any worse. The day after the binge swim was very sore, partially from the weightlifting, and also from being up for the whole following day w/o eating a thing, standing the whole time too. Swim's legs were particularly sore, he felt a pain in his inner legs that didn't seem muscular either--from the inside. Kinda like his arteries hurt or something--hard to explain for swim. Maybe it was b/c he stood up for so long which he had never done before. The Dr. swim is going to see is his longtime Dr. who swim can tell anything and feel ok with it. He has never told his doc anything like this before but swim is comfortable with it. What swim meant his his previous post is perhaps his doc can keep that blow info out of the chart yet still tell him the events that transpired. Swim wont pressure the doc to to anything. What is more important to him is 'getting back to normal' and never, under ANY circumstances, let this happen again. He wants to get back in the gym and move on as if this never happened (but NOT forget.) When swim went for a jog he felt unusually weak. He hasn't ate much lately and has lost several pounds which may be why. His breathing wasn't out of order though. It has been a very long week for swim! Last edited by Dickon; 24-07-2009 at 09:20. Re: SWIM needs some advice on a Nitric Oxide+Alcohol+Cocaine situation
Yeah I doubt the blow would make it into the patient records based on the relationship SWIY has described. One other option is to just act oblivious and have no idea what could be causing the numbness and play hard to get with the sensitive information by saying like "Well I did do something, but I never thought it could be related to the numbness so I didn't bring it up..." and just have the doctor try and find what's wrong. But it seems like deception won't be necessary since you two are on good terms.

Re: SWIM needs some advice on a Nitric Oxide+Alcohol+Cocaine situation
So SWIM knows what to tell the doc. He thanks you all for the input. Honestly though nobody has ever heard of such a thing happening before in regards to numbness given the circumstances?? Everywhere SWIM has searched, and everyone/place he has inquired, nothing like this has been mentioned as even a remote possibility, which is very discouraging for him....
