Other - Bogus LSD "Synth" (Oranges!)

SWIM was told of an "easy LSD synth"... Now, SWIM is am not a chemist, but SWIM is also not stupid. SWIM knew this was bogus immediately, but was then hit with a similar statement from SWIM's Fathter.

Here is what the first person told SWIM...

"Get an aluminum pan, 1/4 in thick copper wire, oranges and rye bread. Mix the rye and the oranges until it is like a paste. Put the mixture in the aluminum pan, suspend the copper wires longway over the pan by laying it over the top with a sort of "Smile" type arch that hangs down close to the orange / rye mixture. Leave it in the dark for 30 days (SWIM thought that part reminded him of a bogus recipe for a different drug) and there will be crystals formed on the copper. Scrape the crystals and mix with 8oz of water and you have "Liquid Acid"

SWIM know's that is bogus. But then SWIM's dad said if SWIM lets an orange and some rye that is mixed sit in a dark place for a week and then SWIM eats a spoonful (yuck) then he will trip hard.

Then SWIM Saw a video on the internet about a kid tripping after eating a rotten orange (yuck)

SWIM believes all this is bogus, and if the stuff would make one trip it def isn't LSD... But why the heck has SWIM heard this similar story from so many different people? Do oranges and rye make a psychedelic mold? SWIM didn't want me to post this just to waste space, He was curious as to why this has been mentioned so many times recently to him.

Why? Because people are gullible and stupid! There is no truth whatsoever to this "easy way to make LSD."

One wonders if this is not just another "somewhere along the line a recipe for LSA becomes a `recipe` for LSD (like the one from fosters beer any one?)" type thing. One might even suspect that if this recipe was followed then one may end up with some erogline (Ergotline?Not sure on nomenculture) type compound that may or may not be LSA, but probably, ergo (pun intended) "a hard trip".
A real ethnobotanist/chemist/neuroscientist maybe needed (unless a few SWIY have similar experiences)?

Actually I just remembered, when SIOK (someone I once knew) was told that one may be able to derive LSD (another LSD/LSA recipe syndrome thing maybe?) from hydrating some rye crackers/bread with sterilized water, covering and leaving it to "culture" in a warm place. After about 4 - 6 weeks dry out in very low heat and consume 1 - 2 2x4" portions. And that s/he`d done it, except for the consuming part.
At a party that SIOK threw, SIDK consumed these 4 cracker breads/mould and a few hours later sidk`s mate were mentioning how fucked sidk was and that sidk only had a few beers. Sidk had to be coaxed into going to sleep (well, staying in a bed) for the rest of the night.
The next day sidk mentioned that s/he had an experience that s/he never wishes repeated and that s/he thought s/he was going to die and going to the mass, unembodied consciousness. That s/he experienced a life`s worth of `life` in just one night. Months after swim heard that sidk was different after that experience, even when last heard of a few years later, sidk is still a changed person. Not apparently changed for the worst, but not for the better either, had still not touched any psychedelics.
Now sidk could just have been bullshitting, being fairly young at the time (17 - 19), or just pissed/placebo`ed out, or actually tripped. swim thinks that night was some kind of awakening for sidk for sidk to still have been affected years later, so its a possibility something psychedelic happened with the rye crackers.

If the rye is infected with Claviceps purpurea then it is probable that the resulting poisoning (from ergotamine and methylergometrine) could induce delirious hallucinations.

Anyone who tries this is a complete fool. This will not create LSD, the synthesis for which requires much skill and time, not to mention access to some controlled precursors. The symptoms of ergotism are not exactly pleasant either.

Please understand that this really wasn`t me that actually did the "recipe" or consumed it (swim did actually advise against it, but was also interested in the possibilities- being young swimself at the time) but swim did actually attend a party where said activities actually took place (swim has a printout of the BBS `recipe` from this party) and although I am not under any allusion as to whether this makes lsd (which obviously it doesnt) but knowing what swim has read up on lsd and lsa it maybe possible that lsa (or close relative) maybe present.

That is quite hillarious sum1 would even post such blatant BS!!!

Perhaps try reading a synth for LSD thats genuine and see how far from the truth that post really is....lol.

Thanks... SWIM never for a moment believed this would make lsd... SWIM knows that lsd is very difficult to synth and requires very expensive equipment. It was just strange that it hit SWIM from so many different sources. I think SWIM was thinking maybe it made some type of mold that was making people trip or something.
