Tapering Citalopram? Withdrawal?

Swim's Dad, Let's call him K, recently told swim he wanted to get off his anti depression meds. Swim told K he is going to have to taper down to limit his withdrawal symptoms and that he should talk with his doctor about doing this. K said he doesn't think a doctor is needed because they simply just read in a book what to do. Should K see a doctor about this?(Swim thinks he should). If not, could someone post a tapering schedule for 20mg(daily) of citalopram?

K got on these for more of anxiety issues. He had benzo's, but they made K too drowsy.

I would say yes... without a doubt see ur doctor before trying to get off an SSRI.

It can get dangerous.
