Side effects - Darvocet

SWIM has been reading posts about taking TUMS with the opiates. She is just wondering if TUMS would make any difference with Darvocets? SWIM has the 650 mg-100 mg Acetaminophen-propoxyphene. She also knows that that is an awful lot of acetaminophen...she ususally takes about 4 at a time (orally) a day about 3-4 times a week.

Well, only you can determine if tums help. Swim thinks tums ruins most opiates by slowing/fucking with absorption and all that. Try it with and without tums, and let us know what Swiy thinks works better.

I believe there was a way to extract the prop. from the apap since a normal CWE does not work here. Maybe an acetone extraction? I don't remember. Use the search engine, there might be one.

Wow thanks...swim doesn't guess she ever realized how much APAP that was, until she did the math. Swim'll check into the acetone thing. She appreciates all the help.

CWE does not work for propexyphene or whatever the opioid in darvocet is.

just a note, the propoxyphene in Darvocet is actually racemic, ie: is contains both the D and L isomers. Anyways, not sure how well CWE would work, the zookeeper had some difficulty with it. Than again, he's inexperienced with it. Acetone is just scary to Swim. The biggest problem was the filtering itself -- darvocet has a yucky pink coating that kept clogging the fliter paper.

Also, propoxyphene is more closely related to methadone than to morphine. Don't know how that will affect extracting if at all, but a fact to note none the less.

Acetone really is a great substance to work with. It does not randomly explode, it does not kill you with fumes, and it does not melt your hand when you get some on it. Swim does lots of acetone extractions on both plants and cocaine. The three most useful for Swim: Water, Isopropyl alcohol and acetone.

For that coating, slightly wet the pill and wipe the coating off with a towel or napkin. That's what Swim does. Some have speculated the coating can upset the stomach in excess, ie, recreational doses.
