Other - Glass Dust in cannabis

it was a while ago. SWIm was getting this very strong weed from gypsys. It was mind blowing !!! Then SWIM found out that gupsys been mixing it with glass dust to make it much stronger. After that SWIm never bought weed of gypsys. Is it true ? does some people do that ? or SWIMs friend lied ?

SWIm got told that glass cuts ur lungs or some other organs, makes tiny little cuts and cannabinol from weed gets in those cuts and make you very high

The glass wouldn't make it stronger but it would mimic the appearance of THC trichomes which you tend to find on high-power strains. It's a shame they had to resort to that despite the weed being strong on its own merit but it does happen. We have several threads that discuss this at length.

There have been several cases of tiny pieces of glass to add weight, but, as Nature Boy said, it would not increase the high. Cannabinoids are absorbed by the alvioli (or so I understand it) and cuts would not increase bio-availability.

Smoke the weed in a bong or pipe if you are worried about it being contaminated with glass dust (Which does happen, unfortunately)

Yeah, using a water bong is the only option besides tossing said weed.

id say a bong is safer than a vaporizer. the suction of ur breath might still pull minute amounts of glass dust.

There was a thread explaining that some MJ in Massachusetts was "cut" with glass or something which adds weight to the product and people have been hospitalized and users report vomiting blood, etc. SWIM lives in Boston and hasn't heard anything like that yet.

Swims heard that glass dust or sand is added to make it weigh more, which of course means you get less of it and it costs more. Swim suggest swiy gets it off someone swiy knows and can trust.

Not insulting you, but how positive were you that it was glass? Sorry if that sounds like a dumb question. I would think glass on your tongue would do worse than just be grit.

How many cases of actual glass cutting do we have? I'm sure we also have cases of other random materials being put into weed for weight.

I can confirm from experience that weed is occasionally cut with ground up glass dust (or silica gel) to enhance weight/appearance.

It made the news recently, a quick Google search will reveal all.
