SOMA: Fly Agaric mushrooms

I don't know why I didn't ask about this earlier. Fly Agaric
mushrooms are the mushrooms that you can ingest, then urinate, then
drink the urine. Just ingesting the mushroom a person ingests a
fair amount of Ibotenic acid and also Muscimol (both of which I believe
are psychoactive. I'm at least sure that Muscimol is). When
one ingests the urine which has a higher concentration of Muscimol than
would just plain ingestion, a long trip occurs which I've heard lasts
upwards of 10 hrs. to a day.



I'm just curious if anyone has had any run-ins with this
mushroom. At one point, SWIM had been very interested in trying
it. He was going to smoke it as it was suggested that smoking it
relieved most of the nausea that is felt when it is just
ingested. Just curious if there are any personal experiences out
there.

Someone must have an opinion. This mushroom was used in the
Middle East in ancient times and has been documented as Soma by its
users. Something that was a part of their ancient life and used
for healings I believe...though I'm not 100% sure. I just want to
know if anyone here has anymore information on it from a personal
experience or personal research. Stuff aside from just googling
it or going to erowid.

SWIM has tried eating caps of this mushroom, only 7 grams so the effects where light. Smoking the caps had a harsh smoke and a bad taste, SWIM did not smoke to much of it. Smoking is said to work and he wants to try again with a 10x extract. SWIM also tried tea which tasted good, but only felt mild and sedative effects, never got much of a psychedelic feel yet. SWIM dosed to small on all his attempts with this mushroom, because of its supposed toxicity. From what he has tried swim definatly does not fear the toxicity of this mushroom. Im sure it can be used safe recreationally

SWIM is in no way asking where your SWIM acquired this mushroom but
SWIM was wondering if it's indigenous to anywhere in the US. It
is in the Netherlands in some areas...

the mushroom can be found in the forest in parts of the US also i
talked to a guy from finland who said that they grow there. he had
taken them on occasion and said it was something for special occasions
only. its just not something that one does just for the hell of it on
regular basis. also it is easily obtained via the net, just look.

why would you want to drink your own pee? you know its kind of facinating what people do for a good trip but some of it is disgusting.

I don't want to drink my own urine...I'm just asking if someone else
had maybe had some experience with it. There were other methods
of use listed other than consuming one's urine but it's good to see
where some people get hung up.

The mushroom can be found all over the Pacific Northwest, especially
around the cascades in Washington, but you don't really have to look to
hard to find them anywhere in Western Washington. My dog got
quite ill after eating three growing in the back yard, but he did
manage to pull through. He must have known something I didn't,
because I sure could not think of a reason that a dog would just chew
up and eat three large mushrooms.

These are the mushroooms from the smurfs right? Maybe that's why they were always in a good mood and singing. They look so cool on tv in the cartoons, just makes you want to try some and see what they do.

They grow under pine trees in Jan-Feb in most areas of the U.S. They even
grow in the higher elevations in Kauai. Amanita muscaria is a late fall-winter
mushroom 2 weeks after the rain. Clark Heinrich has some good books out
on them.
