Wellbutrin/SSRI question? Mephedrone...

Swim is going to be put on ssri's or something like wellbutrin tomorrow.

Will SWIM still be able to use mephedrone while on these drugs?

How about cocaine and amphetmines?

Also does anyone know how it might effect the treatment if he does still plan on using these drugs? Will the aintideppresents be ineffective? (obvously during the comedown but what about long term?)

He will be getting treatment for deppression and anxiety.

Can't think of how they'd hurt the cocaine, but using mephedrone or amphetamines sounds like a bad idea.

Re: Wellbutrin/SSRI question? Mephedrone...

Wellbutrin is proven to lower the seizure threshold and, given mephedrone's ability to markedly raise both HR and BP, it would be a bad idea to mix the two.

If SWIY absolutely HAS to find something he can combine he might be better off looking at methylone instead.

I assume methylone has the majority of it's effects via serotonin? (If not please let me know)

In which case: Effects likely to diminished/negated by SSRI type drugs and possibly also a risk of serotonin syndrome

Methylone's dopaminergic activity is far more pronounced relative to its serotonergic activity.

Re: Wellbutrin/SSRI question? Mephedrone...

Bupropion (i.e., amfebutamone) is often counterindicated for use with anything that lowers the seizure threshold. However, SWiM has safely mixed bupropion with stimulants up to fairly high doses; in fact bupropion+dextroamphetamine is a common combination in treating certain sorts of atypical depression. Methylone+bupropion, provided that the seizure threshold issue isn't a big deal (and if you've any hint of a seizure disorder, it is), I'd risk it over a combination with an SSRI, as I hear serotonin syndrome is pretty fucking unpleasant.

Re: Wellbutrin/SSRI question? Mephedrone...

SWIM saw his doctor today. He was prescribed either citalopram or Cymbalta he cant remember which.

He remembers being told this Drug was selected because it didnt caus as much weightgain as other antideppresants but was also told it was an SSRI, which Cymbalta doesnt seem to be.

Either way how will this effect using meph?
