Opinions - How to take?

Recently got some Salvia 40x from our local Smoke Shop. Now, I'm your typical anti-drug guy, though making allowances for Salvia for whatever reason.
What I'm intending to say is, that I have no prior experience with smoking anything beyond shisha.

So, I have a hookah -- No pipe, no bong, and I doubt I have a butane lighter.
[That's a lie, I have one, but with no refills.]

How do I go about this?

I bought some for my friends two nights ago, packed it with some shisha both on top, and sandwiched, and they both definately had some effects for two to seven minutes -- But despite me taking ten, eleven hits consecutively could not get anything. Maybe 40x will do it, as last time it was 20. Can't say.

So, any idea how we can work on this problem? Can you make-shift a bong? Or does a hookah work? [Not sure if the high temperatures needed can be achieved with a hookah. From what I hear, it's unlikely.]

Before being a pissant, let's take a look at my post.

a. I have neither a bong, nor pipe, nor anything of that nature. I'm not even sure if that nomenclature denotes the same thing. Which is what just about every guide is about.

b. I'm clearly looking to smoke it. I do not want a 'quid'. [Rolled up damp piece of the extract if I'm correct?]

How about being helpful? Since, you know. This is a forum designed to help people. Least you could do is link a thread since I clearly couldn't find one.

I also have no interest in smoking joints. [Not that I have something to roll it in, anyway.]

And as I'm looking to smoke it, oral ingestion is a no-no. [I'm unsure if a 'quid' is the only way to take it orally, just confirming.]

You lack the necessary implements for salvia. It'd be a good idea to purchase a small pipe or bong in addition to a lighter.

Also, even if salvia might be legal where you live, its better to avoid self-incrimination by using SWIM (someone who isn't me) or something equivalent.

Yes, if you wish to smoke it, it seems you lack the equipment.

A select few reported worthwhile effects from joints, but the most accepted are pipes and especially bongs.
