Drug info - Ratio Emtec 30 (codeine and acetaminophen)

A friend of mine recently acquired a bag of Ratio Emtec 30's.
It is known that these contain acetaminophen as well as codeine phosphate.
How safe is it to take these recreationally?
Does the level of acetaminophen in them rule out recreational use?

Use The Forum Search Engine (UTFSE) and look up CWE - cold-water extraction to remove the majority of the acetaminophen (paracetamol). Acetaminophen is highly toxic to the liver and kidneys and should be removed if possible.

No, SWIY should not take more than the recomended number of these capsules as the acetaminophen will kill you or seriously damage your liver at high doses. This is a method to extract the codiene-
Roughly 50ml of water for every 20 tablets (no more) used Adding ice cubes will speed the process up however only a few as they'll increase the water volume too much. Don't use hot water only cold, as cold water keeps the codiene high in strength , mash the tablets into a fine powder, a big plastic bowl and a smaller glass bowl will work best "although it takes some doing" before you put the tablets into into ice cold water. Tried many times before *Hypothetically speaking* with a better result all round. Put the solution into a container "A glass Jug works best" then place the jug in a big bowl full of cold water and ice "if you have any ice too hand". Let the solution cool in the fridge for as long as you can wait ideally 8hours. You will know it is ready when you can almost see through the liquid and all the asprin has settled to the bottom of the jug. Filter out solution using what ever you have too hand, a dish cloth works well. Store in the fridge if possible. Drink and relax

It is good to see that swiy is trying to help/contribute to DF and in time swiy will receive any rep that is deserved,swiy should just be carefull that he tries to put out up to date and factual info were ever possible..

The claimed "SAFE" amount of acetaminophen in a 24hr period =4000mg
This idealy should be spaced and for no more than a 3-4 day period.

A much better C.W.E can be obtained using the DF search engine,were swiy will find it is recomended that warm water(less than 60c)be used.

Thanks for the info! My friend (having absolutely no experience with extraction whatsoever) doesn't know if he will try the methods available here to remove the codeine from the aceta; he may perhaps instead opt to keep them around as intense head-ache medicine

If one were to begin practice of extraction, would it be a better idea to start off using ordinary (i.e., non-intoxicating) pills? It would be tragic to waste some product because of lack of know-how, you know?

Before Duff posted this thread they did use the forum Search Engine in hopes of finding some information on Emtec at all, to no avail.
The initial inquiry was not concerning extraction of any product, so it never occured to Duff to search "CWE."
Duff would like to state that he has read the rules well (at least 3 times), and is doing their newbie best to uphold them.

Most of The extraction methods aint too hard , and can easily be performed at home if u have time and the right equipment..

To extract the codeine, you basically just need to put your tablets in 100ml of water leave for 2hrs then filter out the solids, and drink..

That extraction doesn't sound difficult at all! How much should one drink of the liquid after solids have been extracted? For example, is it better to use an eye-dropper to evaluate proper dosage, or would it be just as well to chug the liquid? (half-joke, Duff doesn't want to die; but what is a good method of measurement?

right use 2ml of water per tablet so 20 tabs in 50ml of water, put tabs in warm (not boiling) water, stir, then put in fridge for approx 1- 4hrs, stirring occainsly. Then get a coffee filter, soak it, so it does not absorb codiene soloution. Filter out the codiene soloution using the filter,

To get a buzz one needs to ingest 100-250mgs of codiene, thats about 12-15 tabs worth (8mg /tab). Its avisable to start with less and work ones way up, but u can do the maths from there, if SWIY tells me how much A)codiene per tab,B) how many tabs used, C) how many mls of water used, SWIM will give an amount of how much to drink to buzz.. (please add to my rep..)

Duff has not yet completely decided to extract the Codeine phosphate, but is strongly considering it (especially to curb the withdrawal symptoms of Butalbital withdrawal should such occur).
According to online sources, Ratio-Emtec 30's contain 30mg of Codeine Phosphate; Duff has approximately 23 tablets (perfect number).
Should Duff choose extraction, they will ultimately use your recommendations concerning the water levels, etc.

Dissolve all the tabs in 100ml,
then after filtration drink 15-20ml to start...
Wait 30-45 mins then if not high add another 5-20ml, as needed...
