Cooking Cannabis butter with home grown

swim tried boiling a handful of leaf clippings and stems in some butter for 30 mins. it looks kinda gross though. it just looks like a bunch of white goop that came out of the stems or something. is this thc, or what?? will it make swim sick? high?? no buds were put in the butter BTW, just a buch of leaves and such.

cmooooooooon, i know someone here has made weed butter... is it normal for the end product to look.. like a blob of jizz? lol. cus thats whats sitting at the bottom of the glass..

Maybe one burned the butter.
One only needs to slowly and lightly simmer the material. Leaves work great for butter. Two good ways to cook butter if only wanting to use butter use the double boiler method. Put your material and butter in a Pyrex dish put the dish over boiling water. This way this dish is heated by the water and will not burn the butter or material. Strain and use. Another method is put the butter and the water in the same pot and bring to boil. After boiling let cool, put in fridge and butter will harden and be on top of the extra water. One good thing about this method is one can pre soak the material to get chlorophyll and other unwanted water soluble items out of the material. These two ways are preferred for swib since the temperature will not get above waters boiling point so it will not burn the butter or material.

One can still strain and use the white goo it should have some affect it might be burnt or have much air in it, or something else but still should work

swim doesnt think he burnt it. maybe everything wasnt dry enough? if you boil stems and squeeze them, a similar white goo comes out. although the end product had a lot of white goo for the amount of stems.. maybe it could be too oxygenated or something. either way, the yellow/green butter has separated from the white goo thats on the bottom of the glass. should swim even bother with the stuff on the bottom?

How long have you left it for?

The methods i know, you put the mixture into a container and leave in a fridge for a few days.

The butter hardens and rises since oil floats on water, and the water and left over plant matter sink.
You then drain that water and gunk away and should be left with some good butter
