Counteract side effects of oxcycontin?
Hi All,
I have been dealing with back problems since 1998. I have had several surgeries, including a titanium disc implant. I tried a morphine pump, a nero stimulator, multiple injections and nerve blocks and I still have pain. During these last 10 years I have always been on some sort of opiate. Currently I am on 400mg/day of oxcy and I also take 800mcg of Fentora 2-5/day. For the last couple of years the biggest issue for me has been that I have absolutely no motivation to do anything and I am tired all time. A few months ago I tried Fentonal patches instead of the oxcy, and that made me even more lethargic. My doctor had given me a prescription for Provigal to help with the lethargia but my insurance will not cover it. So I was curious if anyone who is also on high doses of opiates has found anything that helps with some of these side effects? Thanks, Steve |

Re: Counteract side effects of oxcycontin?
I just wanted to be sure that everyone knows that all of the drugs I have taken over the last 10 years have been prescribed to me by my doctors. Every month I have to go into the pain management clinic to get the next months prescriptions. And let me tell you it has almost always been a pain in the ass. As everyone know these drugs are very watched and even though I have been going to the same pharmacy and getting the same drugs for many years they is still usually some sort of mess up that causes me to have to go back to the doctor to get another script. So I am looking for drugs that are strictly legal, or maybe even some sort of herbs. I am just seeing if others in my situation may have found something that works for them, so that I could then go back to my doctor and see what he thinks. Because as of right now he has only suggested provigal and it is not covered by my insurance.
