Drug info - Does codeine 'go off'?

My partner was prescribed codeine phosphate 60mg (for broken ankle pain - ouch) a year and a half ago. i just found 6 pills left in the back of the bathroom cabinet... Interesting..

Would they still be ok to take or could it have gone off? Its just the blister pack not in the box so there is no expiry date on them. And for a buzz, would i take more than one at a time? As you may guess, im new to codeine..

swim has no idea as codeine doesn`t last a week in swims place. as a newbie swim would suggest swiy takes 3 maybe 4, if they`ve gone off swiy will get nothing, if they`re o.k swiy should get nice little buzz either way swiy has got nothing to lose

good point, swim will try to remember in future but is still a newbie herself so tries hard not to rule accidently break herself

Im really sorry, I did read the rules carefully, but Im not exactly sure what rule i have broken here? Is it not using SWIM in my post or something else? And when you say ive accrued negative reputation already, what does that mean? that I have 'points' on my account or something? Im totally happy to abide by any rules and certainly dont want to offend anyone or get banned!

swiy should take about 3 of them if they are 60mgs codeine.
dosage for codeine is like 60-120mgs and 120-220mgs then 220-400mgs.
swiy is being risky if he goes around 400, because this is where organs will shut down like the liver, pancreas,kidney failure.

swim "some one that isnt me " would suggest looking in main [opium,opiates and opoids] link,look about 8th line down "complete list of opiate dosages".swiy can also find lots of information by using "tse" search engine in blue bar top of page.if swiys pills have been unopend they should be ok.
