So many "how long does it take"'s
Hey, everybody. There are so many questions and answers on how long it takes to pass a drug test. Well, I have one: How long does it take to fail a drug test? For instance, on the various routes.....IV, IM, oral, smoking...how long does it take for the drug to show up in a test. Say for instance...Swim had an injection of IV hydromorphone at the hospital...and he went that afternoon for a drug test...would it show up? How long does it take for drugs to show up in the urine?

swim says hours. swim took some lorazaepam about 5 hours before a test and failed the test. so as soon as it is being metabolized it can show up in urine.

A Certain Mouse has had to obtain urine tests in the past (he worked on an in-patient ward) & has seen people piss clean up to 24 hours after smoking cannabis, & up to 12 hours after taking amfetamines, without over-dilution or other spurious detox methods. The same people were retested within the time-scale indicated for a valid urine test, & lo & behold drugs were found! This is very much the exception he hastens to add - in the majority of cases samples will show illicit drug use within a couple of hours at the most.

Thanks for the info everybody. Swim was miserable and took an IV shot of 4mg dilaudid to feel better monday morning because swim can't seem to find a job. That was at 9am. About 11:30am, swim received a call to go take a drug test. Saturday night swim had a 2 1mg xanaxes as well...now swim was freaking out. He went to his parents house....took multivitamins, garlic, b vitamins, and a hand full of those 81 mg aspirin. He also drank tons of mountain dew and water.....enough to where swim was going every 45 minutes. When swim got to the drug testing center a little before 4pm...they had to make swim wait 15 minutes for some reason....oh THE PAIN...because when swim got there..he could barely hold it. Swim had taken the B vitamins too early....because when he went to the bathroom....his pee looked like water...but peed more than a quart because of waiting so long. Swim made a joke because he had not eaten all day...but had alot of liquids..and told the nurse..."Swim thinks he drank to much water, swim has never seen his pee that clean before". She smiled and said, "oh that's ok". Swim knew that it was super diluted...but swim didn't want her to know that swim knew that. It is such a relieve to know that swim passed a 7 panel test...he looked at the form...and it had a dilute check box on it....apparently she didn't care...because swim continues in the interview process.

Swim wonders why people and governments through a big deal if people do things to make them relax or feel better. Swim knows that people should NOT go around killing and robbing people for drugs...that is just not right. Swim believes that all countries should adopt the attitude of the Netherlands...and let personal use be personal!!!

provigilken added 10 Minutes and 27 Seconds later...

Swim also prayed to God every 5 minutes for 24 hours that the company would spill his urine sample or lose it....and just mark it negative. Perhaps, God got sick of hearing swim begging every 5 minutes and allowed this to happy. Whatever the case, swim is very thankful that he passed!!

you have got to be kidding me...swim knows from personal experience with a whole box of 10-panel tests that it was 100% impossible for him to dilute xanax out of his urine...it took around 20-21 days before that positive mark even started showing signs of fading. lucky bastard.

I thought for sure swim was a goner. Swim stayed up all night stressing...and didn't get out of bed today. Swim finally contacted them...and they called back....and said swim had passed everything and to go to the final interview at 9am. Swim studied the xanax and it said 3 days for single use...and 7 -10 days multiple use....and up to a year chronic use. Swim took it a couple that saturday and one a couple of days before that.

Swim has no idea how he passed...especially with the hydromorphone 7 hours earlier. People say that aspirin affects the reaction of the panels...I'm not sure how true that is. Swim was pissing every 30 to 45 minutes....perhaps the only unknown thing that swim took was CranAction Pills based on cranberry juice and Garlic (which I know is a blood purifier). Swim knows that he never wants to risk something like this again!

Oh to make these matters worse...swim also took ONE puff of weed on saturday and ONE puff on Friday. Perhaps it was divine intervention because swim never prayed so hard!

Swim thinks it was probably all that hydration. Swim never passed a test for opiates (he's never really taken them) but he did pass a test for cocaine maybe 24 hours after use. He drank two family sized jugs of cranberry juice and just let nature take it's course. The advil idea seems like a myth to swim, but congratulations, there are few feelings better than passing an important drug test when one knows that they shouldn't have passed.

cannabis is notoriously easy to dilute out of the range of detectability, probably because the kidneys are so over-run with hydrostatic pressure, that water out-competes the slow sticky trickle of cannabinoids in the urine.

although vitamins restore 'yellowish' coloration, it takes actual nitrogen to fool the creatinine-dilution-test. Supposedly this can be counteracted by taking creatine or eating red meat...although this sounds flakey, I'd rather get called back for a repiss for dilution than get fired for a positive UDS.

I agree. I wonder if the fact that I hadn't eaten anything in 24 hours either, just only had liquids had something to do with it as well.

probably didn't hurt. chugging all that water/tea/pepsi is strenuous and sometimes downright painful. Not having food in your stomach no doubt made that process easier on your stomach. -DICK
