Four students taken to hospital after taking Snurf herbal ecstasy

September 8, 2008 - NEWTOWN, Pa. - (WPVI) -- Four students from Council Rock High School North were taken to the hospital after taking what police say is a "mind-altering" substance.

It happened around 11:40 a.m. Monday.

According to the school district, administrators confiscated a small package of pink pills purchased online called SNURF.

The pills are being analyzed by Newtown police.
The district say three of the four 10th graders had some signs of an altered state. Three of those students were treated and released from St. Mary's Hospital. One is still being treated.

Police say SNURF is an herbal supplement which mimics the effects of the drug ectasy.

Investigators don't know much about SNURF, but it appears popular among recreational drug users.

Council Rock officials notified other students who may be in possession of the substance to destroy it immediately, but so far, no one else is believed to have it.

This is what really pisses me off. Stupid fucking kids who try new drugs in school. Terrible. God forbid anyone who does their homework... This happend last year in the same school district, but with suboxone. Kids with no opiate tolerance taking 1/2 to 1 pill, first time used in school. They thought they were dying so they went to the nurse. Fucking kids....
