Dose - 2nd trip, soon after first. How much to take to get over tolerance?

My friend came around to my place earlier and said this:

I first tried LSD a couple of weeks ago (3+) and it was an amazing wonderful experience. I plan on doing some more this weekend and then some more the weekend after. Keeping tolerance in mind, should i just dump one tab this weekend and hope it was as powerful as last time and then take two the weekend after, or take two this weekend and three the weekend after that?

what do you guys think i should say to him?

honestly doing acid every weekend is not a good idea. instead of upping is dose for the same expireince he should jsut simply trip more infrequently

He doesn't really plan on tripping that often usually, he has just promised two different groups of friends that he will try it with them and can't really back out. He just wants a similar experience to his first time again, how much is spent doesn't really matter.

So tell him to take one this weekend and then next weekend take one, then a few hours later the other?

personally id do 2this weekend then 3 next wekened if u feel you can handle it but let me wrn you it will be way more intense than jsut one tab.

Another scenario is that by week 3 he's so immune to the effects of LSD that he can only get euphoria and fuzzy visual distortions.

LSD abuse is assisted psychosis. Whether permanent or temporary, it'll weird him out real good. And no matter what anyone says, for some the experience is extremely mentally addictive. So definitely take that into consideration.

There's also a chance that by week 3, if the tolerance isn't an issue, bad trips will be. While this isn't doctrine or anything, I think most would generally agree: the first few experiences are gentle and kind. You're too amazed to be self-conscious. If one times these first few experiences too closely together, though, for most the bad trips begin to outweigh the good. The more successive the trips become the less the lightshow dazzles the person and the more it begins to work on the sub/unconscious mind. And it digs deep and hard.

I'd highly disagree with bad trips becoming more likely. Perhaps the novelty of the experience will wear off a bit but still what vastly affects the trip more than anything is set and setting. Of course higher doses bring more possibilities of crazy mental effects but I think you are putting out needless worries for SWIOpiumis.

Regarding tolerance, a week is enough for most people to completely reset their tolerance. Dosing weekly for a few months might cause a small tolerance to build up but dosing three times in a month or two is not going to cause a tolerance issue.

I believe that with repeated use setting becomes less and less important and set becomes the focus. As you said, chrisn, the novelty tends to wear off. After that you're left with some fairly unimpressive visual fireworks and one hell of a mental probe, which can see into problems the person may not even have. For an inexperienced tripper this can lead to some severe problems. It could be positive too, some, if not most, people go through things of this nature unphased. I'm just warning about excessive, consecutive use for a beginner. We don't know what the person's reaction will be after the third dose. The first time isn't a very good measuring stick.

Just waving a flag of caution, not trying to preach. I should hope that if we were writing liner notes on the directions for use of pharmaceutical LSD-25, these warnings would be included and that is how questions of this nature should be answered in my opinion.

Additionally I would hope that my words wouldn't cause anymore fear or paranoia in the user of the drug than any such a warning. Be it on a bottle of LSD-25 or aspirin.

With swim's experiences, and all of his friends, it seems like the more you trip (off the same dose) the less prone you are to a bad experience. As long as when you walk in you have your head strait, and no worries, it could be theoreticly possible to trip anywhere. Of course this is not advisable, and take each experience as a psycheological exploration, searching through unlocked doors of perception, and not as a way to just have a good time. people who don't drop for the right lessons are the ones that got it banned in the 1st place. just look at salvia today.

Don't take acid every weekend! After a period of heavy acid use (not something he does any more) Monkey goes a little bit crazy. Crazy in a good way, but its definately not mentally healthy for him. If you must take it the next couple of weekends (and Monkey advises swiy to only take it a fortnight away) take a very extended break afterwards.
