(Forced) Detox - Long or short?
So, for reasons that must remain unstated, SWIM can't get out for a few weeks. SWIM was carrying a nasty 5+ bag habit, and knew he was going to run out. After the bag of old cottons and lumps of oxycontin residue, SWIM had on hand:
120 -7.5/200 vicoprofen
120 -T3s
1.5 - 25 mcg/hr Duragesic patches (the .5 was an old one SWIM peeled off after 2 days and stuck to a credit card).
This was about 2 weeks ago, and any old hand will know that SWIM was in for a bad time, but less of one than if he'd been without. The question to ponder is this: Is 3-5 days of real misery actually better than stringing it out and being 50% miserable for twice as long? The thing I understand that SWIM cannot stand is the heebie-jeebies (involuntary muscle contractions). Sweating, hot and cold, the runs, etc., are miserable but can be endured. When you lose control of your body, that's something alltogether different in SWIMs view, and this has generally been avoided thus far. However, the rest is in play nice and strong and it would have been over a week or more ago if the turkey was cold. Thoughts?
